2003 Toyota Tacoma - Page 9 Questions & Answers
Will not start. clicking sound.
If you are certain that the battery and connections are good, then it is likely you have a problem with the starter. Try getting a jump start from another battery, if this does not help, you probably have a bad starter solenoid. This is a very common problem with Toyota starters. The solenoid is bolted to the side of the starter motor. It has a metal cover screwed on the back of it and if you like, once the starter is out of the truck, you can remove the solenoid contact cover and replace the contact set. The contacts are very cheap compared to the price of the whole starter and it is a fairly easy job to do. If you google; "toyota solenoid contacts", you will find several websites with pictures showing the exact procedure. The contacts are probably best purchased from your local dealer as there were several different styles. Just a reminder though, although I'm sure the solenoid contacts are your problem, please be sure the battery is OK. Batteries usually only lat about 4 or 5 years.
Hope this helps, just ask if you need more,

Check engine light on 2003 toyota tacoma, O2 sensor?
An O2 sensor code is a tricky one. It could mean SEVERAL different things, and I know how bad it sucks to hear this, but your best bet is to take it in and have a diagnostic ran on it at either a dealer or a good mechanic shop with a computer they can hook up to it. I had an "O2" code come up a while back on another car I used to have, and literally spent weeks and hundreds of dollars trying to fix it, and never did. Finally out of desperation took it in, paid the $90, and they found the problem and fixed it in like 30 minutes. Something I would have never even thought of was causing it (can't remember off the top of my head). After that I stopped wating time and money on check engine lights. One comes on in my car, I take it to have it ran for free at and auto parts store just to make sure it's not a loose gas cap or something, just to get an idea of what I'm looking at, then go and make an appointment to have to hooked up to a diagnostic computer to track down the problem. Good luck, and hope this helps save you some time and money.
How to change headlight
open the hood. put your hand on the back of the headlight in the engine area. you will feel a rubber gasket around a hole were wires go in. pull the rubber gasket off using the rubber tab. then unplug the wires from bulb. then theres a little metal hinge kinda, it lifts up and over. once you do that the bulb will come out. replace with new one just dont touch the glass part of bulb. then slide the hinge back over to hold the bulb in place. theres only one way the bulb will fit. replace gasket then plug wires in.
I've been told I should get a new front catalytic
1. Check & replace if necessary all spark plugs of the engine.
2. Check & replace if necessary the air filter of the engine.
3. Verify the exhaust line for leaks & repair if necessary.
4. If everything is OK, then the exhaust catalytic converter is too used and needs to be replaced. The hydrocarbon level of the exhaust gas is controled by the exhaust catalyser. I don't think the exhaust catalyser is too used.
Change clutch
Sounds like transfer case issue if 4 wheel drive works and 2 wd does not. Clutch slippage would be worse in 4 wheel drive more than 2 wheel drive, more to push.
Im a painter in a body shop and we have problems
Spies Hecker has a waterbourne chip guard that you can reduce up to 10% and spray it thru a paint gun 7100 or 7104 grey or black it goes on green then dries to the color. It matches perfect to paint over
