Will not start clicking noise

It is probably a bad battery. If the battery is good, check your terminals. Make sure they are clean and the terminals are tight. They may need new ones put on. If all this checks out, it may be your starter solenoid or starter. Check your ignition fuse as well.

Hi and welcome to FixYa!

I strongly suggest that you have the car diagnosed. If the check engine light is on there must be a faulty sensor somewhere and having it scanned will show the fault code. By then we'll know what sensor should be replaced.

Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!

Check this site. Full of info and color codes. http://www.etrailer.com/faq-wiring.aspx
Did you use a direct plug that plugs into the harness or just a 4 way plug spliced in?
On this truck you will have to have a wiring converter... it will use turn signals and brake light (3 wires in) and convert them to a 2 wire which is what is required. Hope this helps, Mike

1984 toyota pickup (Fuel Injection)9Automactic)

Hi, Look into you MAF sensor...
Mass-Air-Flow sensor... it helps determine the right air/fuel mixture based on the incoming air temp and flow AFTER the air-filter.
So it gives bad readings and it stalls the car, particularly when coming to a stop from higher speeds... it should also be noticeable when bliping the engine.

Sometimes the sensor's get gunked up and you can clean it with brake cleaner... delicately with a pipe-cleaner... or a full on replacement of it.

It should be a simple straight forward job... the sensor is in the air intake tube between the intake manifold and the air filter.

This is baloney. I don't believe the computer is hurting the sensor. You could check that with a voltmeter. Do you have the trouble code? If not, can you go to a local parts chain and get a free scan? Need the actual code to advise you, please. Also, do you have the 4 or 6 cylinder engine?

Fails to start after new battery installed,

The headlights are suppose to turn off while the starter is engaged. It gives the starter more amperage. But the problem is more than likely your starter solenoid. It will click when the starter is suppose to engage. But the solenoid is not passing the power through it to the starter. You can take the starter off and have the starter and solenoid tested at about any auto parts store. For sure Autozone or O'riely's.

Which battery would you replace a 2003 Toyota

I prefer Interstate Batteries. They seem to last longer than the others. Costco brand is about 30% less cost, if that is an issue.
I dislike Sears Die Easy, as I have witnesses sooooo many die much quicker than expected.
