sounds like you were running it without oil..that would explain why there was no oil leaking on the ground..the gearbox would now be worn out so it's best to get another trans,, could be a rebuilt or from a scrapped crashed vehicle..if the trans was running out of oil, best not try to repair it..

do you have a check engine light on I suggest you try looking at the oil control valve which controls your idling

I would just use what the car calls for if you use a thicker oil it may not flow properly in your engine and cause more problems

You treat it as if there was no spark at all. doesn't sound like the ignition coil, so it could be the ignitor (on American cars called the ignition control module, or ICM, but both are basically the coil control module-it controls the primary and secondary windings in the coil) . You can have the ignitor tested at most parts stores. If it is good, next suspect the crank position sensor. This sensor is used by the engine computer to determine spark firing and spark advance, so if bad, there won't be spark. Could be more to check, but start with those two. Usually one of them is bad, or the coil itself is bad.Have you checked for any fault codes with a scanner?

Toyota recommends the use of 5W30 in the '02 Corolla.

When you had engine light on you should go to auto zone,they do for free to check what codes you have then fix.Could be fuse or fuel pump try to check this first and try get scan for codes...

Might check for restricted exhaust--bad converter. Any codes set?

Start buy cleaning Battwry cables and ck to see if any codes the computer schould help you and we can help also.it could be so many things?charging system,failing will do this bad coil bad fuel pump.Cam or crank sensor.cloged converter or so many things look for code obd2 plug in its free at auto zone .
