The door to the fuel tank doesn't open when I pull the lever. How do I open it?
the door will not open probably because the spring at the door hinge is broken or missing
try removing the trim in the boot and you will see wherr the cable is for the lock mechanism, It is either screwed in but I am thinking that it will be held in by plastic clip../ Press the edges of the plastic together and push the mechanism into the fuel compartment. This will allow the catch to move around . have some one hold the lever up and use your fingers or a flat bladed screwdriver ( gently so as not to damage the paint) pry open the door. There should be a "z" shaped flat spring around the hinge that flips open the door when you pull the lever.
The part will be available from toyota only and if mitsubishi is any gauge around $3-$5.00
Trouble code p0125 insuficient coolant temp on
Many shops have a hand held pyrometer that can check actual engine temperature. you can get a rough idea what the temp is by using a thermometer taped to the upper radiator hose. Normal engine temp is generally in the 210degree (f) range. If it is at or close to that I'd change the temperature sending unit. If it is far below normal, check that the thermostat is not stuck open (replace if it is).
How to replace door handle.
The door handle is a tricky customer. Is it the inside or the outside handle? The inside handle comes off by undoing a screw in the trim bezel under the handle. It's a dish shaped piece of plastic held in place by clips moulded in the bezel itself and a single Philips head screw. Take the screw out and carefully pull the plastic off from under the handle.
Next, remove the arm rest (two screws holding it in place on the lower side of the arm rest, you have to kneel down to see them). If the vehicle has electric windows, find and loosen the screw that holds down the switch cluster, remove the switch cluster.
Now you can remove the door card (this is the inner door trim panel) by very carefully but firmly pulling on the card all along the edge of the door card until the card is free. You will probably need a flat tool like a large flat screwdriver. There is a special tool for this job, but it is unlikely you will have one.
Carefully (see how often I use this word!) carefully lift up the door card to free the top edge from the door edge and put it to one side.
The inner handle and mechanism is now exposed, as much as it will ever be exposed under the dust proofing plastic shield, which must very carefully be pulled away. It is glued to the door inner with a very pliable sealant which can be used again to reseal the dust cover after the fix.
You can now loosen the inner handle and remove it. A plastic clip holds the actuator rod to the door. It will slide off to release the rod, which will now just pull out of the hole where it is mounted.
From this aspect you should also now be able to see the screw that holds the outer handle from the inside of the door.
Good luck, it's a tricky fix.
Ignition switch will not engage/turn to start car
Hi Beth usually when shifter is stuck there is a locking mechanism and keeps shifter from engaging unless brake is depressed to release the lock. If you hear a clicking sound when pedal is depressed then switch is probably ok and its probably the steering wheel lock. First try with your spare key to start the vehicle(old key may be worn ). If that doesn't do it then try with WD 40 a very little in ignition key hole or on the key work it slowly and see what happens. If none of these suggestions work its probably the steering wheel lock and that requires surgery. Keep me post best of luck
