Misfire cylinder #2
Possible that the cylinder 2 is not having a good spark or there is a fault in the cylinder. Remove the plug and see if there is a good clean tip. if not there is no firing . If there is oil smearring then the cylinder piston/oil rings can be faulty. Also the valve faults can reduce the compression if checked out to confirm.
This will give you a good indication of the fault and so it can be inferred.
If not change the plugs and reset the valve to rectify the fault.

If you run in to one of the bigger auto parts stores ( Pep Boys, Autozone etc.) they will scan it for free to give you a code(s) that has illuminated the light and should indicate where problem is. If code doesn't point everyone in right direction of repair, get back to us with that/those codes and we can better advise you of course of action for repairs.
Should I change timing belt/water pump
Your 1997 Toyota with the 3.4 L V6 is an interference engine. This means if the belt breaks serious engine damage will occur. The belt must be replaced at 90,000 miles or 10 years under normal conditions and 60,000 under severe conditions. So, you need to have the belt replaced immediately as you are over the maximum of the belt's life. I would not drive this vehicle anywhere except to a trusted mechanic to have the belt replaced. The same belt that drives the cam also drives the water pump. In order to replace the water pump the cam belt must be removed. For that reason and the fact that the pump will not last 180,000 miles I highly recommend you have the water pump replaced at the same time as the cam belt. This will save you on labor cost later on when the pump would fail. Plus it might save more if the engine overheats. As you are going to replace the water pump this is a great time to drain and flush the cooling system and replace the thermostat which may or may not have been done in the past. You also will need to replace the spark plugs if that has never been done. Remember this is an INTERFERENCE engine. Keep driving the vehicle without replacing the belt and you are driving a time bomb that can explode at any time. Hope this is helpful to you.

If the exhaust is not loose, rotted or leaking and you have verified that the area for this rattle is indeed coming from the exhaust, it could be a heat shield that has a broken spot weld. A heat shield is a thin metal cover on the outside of the exhaust. And are known to rattle over time.
