get your owners manual out of the glove box, find fuse panel. there is a legend in the manual and on the back of the panel cover as to what is what. find the fuse for the airbag and remove it. then wait a half hour before disconnecting any of the airbag connections.

Your door may be binding in the guide tracks. Check when the door opens. You could try spray lithum grease if you find that the door does bind.

General: Allways check the timing marks before timing belt removal!

Instructions:
1. Remove the ancillary drive belt
2. Remove the timing belt upper cover


3. Remove the glow plugs
4. Turn the cranckshaft to TDC for cylinder 1

5. Remove the crankshaft pulley centr bolt

6. Remove the crankshaft gearwheel

Check the oil level in your engine, and top it off. If it has been a while, go ahead and get an oil change.
Also, check your radiator fluid level, as well as your transmission fluid level.
If this sound is only present when you first start the van, it is probably just low on oil. If the engine hasn't been rebuilt, you may have oil leaking from your piston rings and onto your spark plugs electrodes, causing inefficient combustion.
Depending on how many miles this engine has, how hard it was driven, etc., it may be time for a rebuild if this problem gets worse. Main and rod bearings, valve springs, valves, etc. all wear out over time, and lead to louder than normal engine sounds. That is too difficult to explain here. Search "rear disc brakes Toyota" on YouTube.com for some videos. You may not find a toyota but most are similar.

You need to perform a compression test to verify mechanical intergirty of the engine. Given that it has overheated at least twice from you have stated, it is possible that the head gasket has been damaged and requires replacement. Check your oil and see how it looks. If there is water in the oil system, you will need a head gasket. 1. check the oil 2. if the oil is good, run a compression test. Let me know what you find.

Do not move the vehicle- so do not start the engine but have it towed for replacement of the cam belt with the proper spare and the timing set to the factory standard.

Loosing coolant, white smoke= blown head gasket.

it could be listed as a tie-rod end, or tie-bar end.
it may also be shown as a stabiliser bar.

you may find you have to buy the complete rod as some of the ends were not removable.
it may be worth asking the mot tester is he knows what they are called

Probably have a rear light ,turn signal ,or brake light out.

it is actually not to hard, easier if 2wd, remove the front propeller shaft, then remove starter held by three bolts and a nut, install it back tracking

The high idle is affects it ability to start up, but the main problem is the fuel pump ,to deliver proper fuel to start the vehicle up, the previa is also equipt with a cold start injector, try this cycle the ignition but just dont start we will let it build pressure, cylcle it and do you hear the humming noise thats the fuel pump, cycle it again, now crank it hopefully this helps

5th gear is attached to the idler arm.Your shifting fork catches it at positions it , The internal shifter worn out. This shifter wore out because it has a lot of pressure that it applied to it.only a tear down of the transmission can resolve this

As a rule you have to take the "boot" off the floor in the inside of the vehicle to get to the top of the transmission. The shifter is bolted on the top of the transmission.

Your problem may be a simple fix or a costly one.I would check that the rear end was at its proper fill level usually you want the fluid right under the check plug.you will want to check the owner manual for the amount of fluid you should put in it.You dont want to overfill it because it can cause the fluid to foam up .and if you need to add make sure of the fluid specs.Not all diff fluids are the same some take a synthetic fluid or an additive.I hope that this will help you out and it ends up just being low on fluid rather than you having to replace the rear end.

Repair it ....A rattle could be anything simple....Normally it is a splashguard or a heat shield that can rattle and make you think it is bad and it wont be.....Have it inspected first ....
some rattles can be a bearing noise from a waterpump or an idler pulley ....etc.....
All vehicles are repairable normally......It could be very simple....I see it all the time...have faith
