This type of problem needs to be approached with diligent process of elimination to properly diagnose. Check for vacuum leaks...with the engine running, spray carb cleaner at each joint and seal along the intake system and intake plenum. If there is a leak the engine idle will change as the spray is taken in through the leak. The idle air control valve could be faulty or dirty. Remove the idle air control valve and clean the interior with carb cleaner. There could be deposits in the thottle body causing the throttle valve to stick open. Check for free operation of the throttle valve. Clean the throttley body with throttle body safe (NOT car cleaner) cleaner by removing the intake hose, spraying the cleaner on the paper towel and cleaning the interior of the throttle body while holding the throttle butterfly plate open. Make sure the throttle cable moves freely and that the return spring is present and working properly. To go beyond this may require special diagnostic tools.

no spark crank sensor. good you getting fuel but with no signal from the crank sensor it will not fire up. can also be oil pressure switch so if the oil light wont go out while cranking the engine it can be this as well

Have you done anything to it. When was the last tuneup. And why the hell are you racing the engine to 5k. That's just wrong. It should idle around 800

Should not have anything to do with the fact you did not disconnect the battery it sounds more like you have nocked an air bag sensor that may be on its way out. The thing is they are to important to play with if you take to an auto electrician they can reset the computer. Then if it comes on again you may need to spend some $ Let me know how you go. Check the spark is firing or distributor.

replace the fuse,,, try operating the passenger window from the switch on the passenger door.. see if the fuse fails again...the rain wouldn't normally be a problem, these are designed to operate in wet conditions unless the thing was literally water logged.

If it is an old battery start with replacing that. If it then still won't start you would suspect the starter solenoid contacts, which are replaceable. The click indicates the solenoid is pulling in OK.

Does not sound right to me. What does he say is wrong with distributor? There are not two of them. If he means crankshaft position sensor, several sensors can be tested by one hour of labor by a good mechanic. You can even test them yourself with a $20 volt/ohmmeter. I would check both the crank and cam sensors. If those tested good, I would check fuel pressure at the injector rail. Test procedures are available online at the link below. 1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the right hand engine under cover.
3. Remove the right side fender apron seal.
4. Remove the sensor wiring retaining nuts.
5. Remove the bolt and disconnect the crankshaft position sensor wiring, then withdraw the sensor.

To install:

1. Install the sensor and secure with the bolt to 69 inch lbs. (8 Nm).
2. Attach the engine wiring.
3. Install the right hand fender apron seal.
4. Install the right hand engine under cover.
5. Connect the negative battery cable.
6. Reset any electrical components such as the radio or clock.

You should as a first step examine the wiring loom where it attaches to the trunk lid hinge. Camrys of that era became well known for fraying and breaking of the wiring in that spot. You may have a breakage or short circuit.
