Hi I am unsure if this is the only problem with the kick down cable but you may need to remove the bottom pan of the transmission to be able to disconnect or reconnect if you cant access it the change the kick down cable from the outside the transmission.

That previa has a central engine, so all engine work requires you take out driver and or front passenger seat out. Interesting. It could be that the circuits are shorted out inside the instrument cluster. The oil light should be on when oil pressure drops below 5psi. Oil level in the engine would not have a direct effect on the warning light unless the engine was empty.

and oil level on engine is full? was that smoke oil smoke or steam,? no matter, id do a compression test on it, if the engine (unstated type) is interference engine id do a leak down test by hand, so as to limit further damage.

check all the wiring a rat could have got in and made a nest check the wiring and every thing that you can because a rat can get in and eat the wiring and cause a big mess

what lights, there are 30+ lights.??? once, name one. better tell me all lamps that fail in any way. the burn smell is a bad sign, it will get worse.

1. Make sure your battery is fully charged. 2. Check connections from battery to starter relay. 3. Make sure you have voltage going to the start side (small wire) of the relay with the key in the "start" position. 4. If you don't have voltage going to the start side of the relay (small wire) with key in the start positon, then your starter switch is faulty (under dash usually mounted on top of steering column). 5. If you have voltage to the start side of the relay (small wire) with key in start position, and it don't click when trying to start your car, then the starter relay is bad. 6. If your starter relay clicks, but engine don't turn over, then the starter is faulty. If you think its the starter switch here is a picture of one uninstalled: it should be on the upper side of steering column, and you must lower it by removing the mounting bolts that are directly under the column and lowering it down.

Follow top radiator hose or tube to engine ,Thermostate will be right there in housing.
