1990 Toyota Corolla - Page 9 Questions & Answers
Hi. I have my toyota corolla 90 dx for 2 weeks now
A couple of things come to mind here. First, check with the previous owner and find out what octaine number gas he was using. If you are using the wrong octaine gas on a high mileage motor you can get the knocking sound. Second the rough idling may be a vacuum/air leak. Check all your air hoses and connections. If you find any disconnected hoses look for an empty connection. If no connection plug the hose and see if that helps.
1990 corolla cranks fine but won't start. What is the troubleshooting process?
check to see if the timing belt is still moving the cams. you should be able to remove a couple of bolts on the top of the timing cover and pull the cover back far enough to see the belt. You can also look in the oil fill cap, you may be able to see the cam.you can also remove the distributor cap to see if the rotor is turning. If the belt is fine than check for spark and fuel pressure. My bet is the timing belt. Especially if the engine sounds like it is turning over faster than normal. I have oil leaking into cooling system, but no
This is caused by a leaking head gasket. When a head gasket leaks you can get oil in the coolant or coolant in the oil of the engine or both. You will need to pull the cylinder head off, have it checked for cracks and if none are found have it machined flat again and replace the head gasket. Use only a quality head gasket set either from the Toyota dealer or a well known quality brand like Fel-Pro (available from NAPA and others). This is a job that requires some special tools and a great deal of car repair knowledge, time to do the job is about 6 hours.
1990 Corolla. None of Power windows operate from
Hello. Welcome to FixYa.
The most common cause of this issue is a bad master switch on the driver side door. Another common cause is a broken power wire that powers up the master switch. CHeck the wries on the connector of the master switch with a 12 vlt DC testlight, with the key on. If you have power, the wire is good, and the switch is probably bad.
Hi i have a toyota
does the brake light in the back window work? if so, the switch is good. check for power at the bulbs. Green/White wires are for brake lights.
