The belt is automatically tensioned by a spring loaded idler pulley. It is the part the moves when the engine is running, it is a pulley wheel on a spring loaded arm. Picture below.10_5_2012_11_29_40_pm.jpg

you have a short take it of and dry it out or spray with wd40 or equivilent should be ok after that the water has getting in and made a permenant contact so its running constant

The water pump on this vehicle whether it is a four cylinder or a V-6 engine is driven by the timing belt and the timing belt has to be removed in order to change the water pump. The labor is between four and five hours times your local labor rate and figure about $150 in parts to as high as $350 in parts if you're going to do the timing belt and bearings. This job is not for the amateur home mechanic

If the sending unit is working correctly, I would say the oil pump or engine is failing.
You can replace the sending unit or have the oil pressure checked with a mechanical gauge to verify.
Its also possible the engine oil is being diluted by gasoline or other liquids.

Find the blower resister board that is attached to the air manifold just behind the glove box. It will have a plug attached to it. remove this board from the plastic or cardboard air plunum and check for any coils that are broken. The air traveling through the plunum serves to cool the coils. When the coils break, you loose a motor speed. If the motor is intermittant at any or all speeds, then motor is going bad. JC Witney!

I had the same problem with my 2001 Nissan Altima. I when to Spalding Auto Parts - Home of Quality New and Used Partswww.spaldings.com/ in Spokane, Washington 509-924-3300 and got the switches for the drivers door. Problem was solved. They do ship parts nation wide and warranty there used parts.

The same happen to my car and after a new starter and a new battery I figured out it wad the plastic part where all the cables meet and the switch has nothing to do with it. Basically the little white part were they insert the screw driver is what is messed up.

well i can't tell you how as i can't be sure what the problem is, however if you have a vom avaiable you can figure out what fuses go to what and check them to make sure power is going where it needs to go, fuses are left open on the ends for this purpose, you should have one fuse box inside your car left driverside down by the floor under the dash
