Serpentine belt

Gear box fail to short to one
Try your local auto parts store and ask if you can rent a ODB II code reader, this just might help you diagnose the problem.

Lose of power
If you don't get an engine code or do not have a way to check the engine codes then replace plugs first (that's the cheapest way). They are also know for having coils go bad at around 200,000 miles.
Sus bit pass smog strong gas smell and hesitating in first
Hi Lori.
Have you checked whether you do have a problem with your fuel Pressure regulator, which might allows the injection system to overfeed the injectors as a result to smell strongly of fuel? Also with a strong overfeeding and smelling fuel unburned, there is a possibility to blow your catalytic converter. Remove your spark plugs -if are new- just clean them and back on to see any difference.
My Toyota echo did not pass smog high Nox what could be wrong?
Nox is created in the engine, and the hotter the engine the more Nox is created.Get your car to run as cool as you can,oil change.engine/rad flush, fresh coolant, tune it up etc.In addition a high nox number may be a sign that your catalytic converter needs to be replaced. The converter is where the nox gets neutralized. good luck
Car will not shift out park
The shift interlock is stuck most cars have a small hole near gear shift to insert the ignition key this should help to free up the mechanism.
Throttle position sensor
Have you checked generic & enhanced data for codes
with a scan tool?
Have you scoped the TPS to put that to rest?
Your putting in throttle, but the ecu is not adding air calculation
or fuel,so you need to do some testing to see what's missing.
Starts & runs good, but under load or higher vacuum it bogs,so
check the egr system or any vacuum related systems.
Check for vacuum leaks, intake, exhaust before converter & evap system
I have a 2000 4-door toyota echo which heats up a lot while driving it
Before you could proceed get the radiator be serviced/ cleaned.
- Check Tire inflation.
- Check the radiator fan rotation direction.
- Re torque the cylinder head bolts.
- Check radiator cap.
- Check external or internal coolant leakages.
- Check thermostat valve.
- Check for clutch slippage (if manual transmission).
- Check brakes, if partially engaged.
- Pressure test the cooling system for cylinder head gasket health.
Smoke engines
Smokes can be of three colors.
1. White smoke.
Excessive white smoke reveals presence of water in fuel, thermostat valve stuck open, or burnt cylinder head gasket.
2. Black smoke.
Black smoke could be observed due to the unburnt fuel or higher percentage of Hydrocarbons during the combustion process, defective regulating valve, ruptured PCV valve, low fuel pump pressure, defective charcoal canister, ruptured or leaking fuel injectors.
3. Blue smoke.
Blue smoke reveals the engine failure.
Light check engine obd p0172
Error Code: P0172
Fault Location:
Fuel Trim, System too Rich, Bank 1
Possible Cause:
Evaporation emission (EVAP) canister purge valve.
Fuel pressure.
Fuel Injector(s).
Heated oxygen sensor (HO2S).
Mass air flow sensor.
Engine coolant temperature sensor.
Element air cleaner, clogged.
Temperature sensor location
0xygen O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1, Sensor 1)
its a heated sensor an the heat is dead or too slow,
the ECU monitors this sensor and can tell if the heater is bad 2 ways.
its bad or the wires to it are bad.(burnt, etc)
420s is lazy cat, ignore this, because the front sensor is bad
the rear is hopeless case. fix 135s, reset all codes, and drive.
