My 2000 Toyota Echo has the red engine temp light

a flashing check engine light (CEL) is a warning to stop driving-one that is on steady (not blinking) means something is wrong, but blinking is BAD-make sure it is completely cooled down, and fill the overflow/surge tank, start it up (use 50/50 antifreeze) and let it idle until the engine temp is all the way up-this can take 10-15 minutes, make sure the heater is on high temp setting and the fan is on-look at the temp gauge if it has one to see if it looks normal. If all looks good, fill the tank to the FULL mark (or a hair above it) and put the tank cap on tight. Drive the car for about 10 minutes, and pay attention to the temp gauge-if it looks good, and the engine is alright, the CEL probably with either not light or will go off by itself.

It is possible you did damage driving it with a flashing CEL, however-if so look for leaks, smoke out of the exhaust, poor running/performance, or more ominous signs of trouble like air bubbles in the overflow tank, oil in the antifreeze of antifreeze in the oil-aluminum engines do NOT tolerate overheating, if you ever see a high temp gauge and/or a flashing CEL-STOP and get it checked out, you will save yourself a lot of money being prudent.

Check engine light is on

The check engine light will come on for many different reasons. Could be as simple as a loose gas cap. If that's not the problem, then you need to get the code(s) read. Your car will require an OBD II code reader. In some states, the auto parts stores will retrieve the codes for you. Without a code, there is no way to say what made the light come on for sure.

My toyota echo is reaching 100000 do i need to

I would check it and make sure it is bad first. Some timing belts last way longer then 100,000 miles. Check for cracks and check the teeth of the belt.

I am using toyota vitz

not sure exactly what you mean but iam assuming you mean the ABS light comes on then the vehicle stops ?' if this is the case clean the sensors on each wheel as they could be dirty with a lot of metal dust sticking to the sensors ,which is throwing the light on which is causing the computer to detect a fault and shut the car down

My Toyota Echo 2005 light

Get an OBD-II Scanner to scan the codes off of the computer. One can get one for under $100 from Sears or Walmart. Or go to autozone or advance auto parts and get it scanned for free.

After getting the codes, the system that is failing will be apparent, and parts should be changed or adjusted in that system.

The light can sometimes be erased or turned off by the scanner, if the fault that caused it is gone.
