You need a coil spring compresser, and the proper skill level to use it.
If you try to change the coils without a compresser, you CAN & WILL GET HURT. Coil springs are not something to fool about with if you do not have the proper tools. These things are danagerous.

Check wiring grounds. Especially check the battery connections.

Check to see if the clutch on the A/C compressor is turning with A/C on max. If not then the clutch is bad or a fuse blown. Check Freon level or have a shop do a leak test. If you replace the compressor always replace the dryer as well

what about the sensors to the gauges maybe they are gunked up.

Is it a Jeep or a Toyota ? Sounds like the security system is having an issue.
