this is covered 100% in the FSM. guy one. or try alldata.com look at it. see what connect there. drop tie rods. (the ony tricky part.) RTM drop off steering shaft coupling. Match mark it, just before. drop all other connections then unbolt it.

all loads on car run off a fuse. if not a fire happens.. (eventuality) there are 3 , thermal protection device, a fuse, or a breaker,or link some cars use a breaker. what you need is the FSM, lacking that , alldata.com it there a schematic and no need to guess.. its $15 to look at alldata. 1/10th of 1 hour shop labor. near free. in my book. here ill look for you.... It depends.There is much opportunity for metal shavings and other contamination to enter an engine when it is apart. Most of this would get caught in the oil filter.I generally change the oil and filter after 300-500 miles after R&R the head. I don't do any special flushes, just a regular oil & filter change. Even that is probably not necessary, but it is cheap peace-of-mind. Any small stuff from the cam/lifters/etc. should have worked its way to the filter by then.

run fault codes to determine reason for misfire as it can be injectors or coils. As to the oil consumption take it back to the lot who supplied the head and have them check that then valve stem seals were correctly fitted. Have a compression test done to determine the condition of the rings .

98? what engine?the ignitor can be in 3 places on all cars.1: fire wall. connects to 1 coil, or 2 coils(WS) or 4 COPS.2: ECU3 :inside the COPS.the ignitor changes the induction (spark) coil.and can be in any of 3 places.i log in to alldata dot com, so can you (a USA example ONLY)it has 2 (4pin( Igniters)so obvious has wasted spark.power pin, ground pin and 2 , pins to ECU.it says, in the finder, ignition coils 1and2 with ignitorin coil finder, and service, it statesremove throttle body to access coilsRTMsee coils, ? see wire they go to one place, the ignitorfollow the those wires, see igniters.

Check your radiator hoses going into your engine. Best case, you may just have a leak that is dripping onto your engine, hence the smell. Worst case, take a look at your exhaust when your car is operating at normal temperature. If there is white smoke coming out, you may have a cracked engine block, the coolant is leaking into your engine and produces white smoke from your exhaust when it is burned.
