Transmission
Usually the dipstick will be either red handled or yellow. If you own a manual to the car just look in the index for transmission fluid/fill and that should point you in the right direction. Most likely located on passenger side of car back towards firewall. Fluid will be of a reddish color and usually states on dipstick how to check it, which is either in PARK or NEUTRAL with engine idling and normal operating temperature.

Water appears to be leaking
Compression Test -- isn't for cracked heads or blocks or
even a head gasket,depending on what is taking place
I would remove what is necessary to get a closer look
You may be there a few days,as I would expect a bad
water pump or a gasket
Your going to do the pump anyway, as well as a timing belt
hoses etc,once your in there
So you may want that done by a repair shop

When you are satisfied with the condition of the battery, check all of your battery cables for tightness and cleaniness, and if the problm persists, tap the starter a couple times with something solid. You problem could be a sticking starter or solenoid.

No just the Radiator and take it to the Rad people for perssure testing first before doing any work on it as if it shows more leaks under pressure than the one you have Dont get it fixed as it will be out again in 3 weeks get it recored and fit a new thermostat the same time..

Remove the rear wheel & spin the brake drum. Listen for noise. Next, remove the wheel bearing cover/cap, and remove the drum & wheel bearing. Spin the hub, listen for noise. You either have rust buildup on the interior of the brake drum or bad wheel bearings.

The water pump is a 2 piece deal; the metal return pipe has an O-ring that fits tight into the back side of the pump.
