Dashboard lights are very dim

I assume you have turned the dial on the dash and have them set to the brightest setting? If you have, and they are still too dim, then you probably have a bulb burnt out.

Hi, Just got new motor mounts,

Probably water in the electrics, was it pressure washed or steam cleaned?. Check all electrical junctions, sockets and unions for signs of dampness - including spark plugs. Anything obviously wet, dry the best you can with a cloth and treat everything else with a hair dryer. As the engine gets warm it will tend to dry most everything out anyway.

It needs a total break repair is 1000 too much?

I would say 1000 is almost what the Tercel is worth, depending on it's mileage. Also, I really don't see why it should cost so much for a brake job on that older vehicle. Get another estimate for that brake job somewhere else.

Speedo is not accurate and

Based on the age of the vehicle I would check the speed gear on the transmission for being worn or loose. If the Speedometer actually has a cable attached to it replace the cable totally. This symptom is more a sign of a worn cable than a twisted cable.

How much torque do i give in the engine head

some engines have a particular torque sequence and you cant just **** them down to torque, i suggest getting a repair manual as it comes in handy for many things, and a good $23.00 investment.

1996 tercel, charge the battery it will start then

Hi,

Check if the alternator output is 13 volts to 14 volts or when the engine runs try to disconnect the negative (- ) terminal from the battery, if it still runs your alternator is okay. Just to check if that new alternator works.
If the procedure that I have told you is working, the battery must be brought to the nearest battery center, they have a load tester that will definintely assess the battery's condition if it really good or needs to be replace.

Hope that charge up the problem!

Thanks for using Fixya!

How do i replace the seals because its leaking for

Hello mmdwell.
You may be able to replace the seals, but it is a difficult job and you will likely find the surface the seal rides on will also be scratched, rusted and scored.
People in the auto repair trade usually go for a rebuilt unit available at most auto parts supply.
They are not that expensive and make the job much easier.
Get one that already has the inner tie rods mounted on it as your Tercel is a few years old and will likely need them anyway.
You will need an alignment after the replacement. A tape measure toe set usually results in worn tires.
Thank you for using FixYa.
