Trouble code p0135, p0303, and p0115
your guessing and then ask us to guess?
why not look in the FSM , it answers that.
or at alldata.com
im there now...
303 is cylinder #3 Misfire. can be caused by 3 things. (ask)
135 is front oxygen sensor heater bad, or wires to are BAD.
115 ECT coolant sensor reads shorted. (beyond north pole cold)
bad ECT , bad wires to it or ECU power it , wrong, dead or weak.
fix 115 first. , then 135 (both are hard failures, DEAD)
last : ever do a tune up, every?
303 can be , just a bad spark plug , injector or burned valve.
the tests for both 115 and 135 , are in the FSM and presented
at alldata.com.
in fact the tests are same for all cars. 1996 and newer in uSA.
are you handy?
or just want us to take a wild guess.
here is my wild guess.
1: ECT wires shorted.
2: front 0xy sensor is bad. replace it.
3: a tune up fixes, 303, (new spark plugs, wires cap and rotor) and air/fuel filters. like magic the #3 stops misfiriing... (your lucky day not a burned valve and $1500 fix)
all my guesses are wrong, but felt id do it to show the folly.
better is the RTM read the manual, do the tests and find truth.
we never guess. we do that tests.
How do I know if my rear drum needs to be turnned/machined?
You can tell by looking at them, as wellas how many miles are on themYou decide when you want to turn them, if you do your own work or install new shoesHopefully you take all your brakes apart once a year, for rust removal, lube & inspection
96 tercel won't let me shift out of PARK
I have that problem too, there is a little square cap on the shift consloe, its about 1/2 inch square if you pry that cap off with a screwdriver ..there is a small white button in the hole. That button is an emergency manual release for the shifter. If you push in and hold that button down you can manually get the shifter out of park.
Air bag light on
see this and fix it.AIR BAG SENSOR REPLACEMENT
Several very important points must be kept in mind about replacing
crash sensors. One is to make sure the replacement is the correct one
for the application. Crash sensors are calibrated for specific vehicle
applications, so compare OEM part numbers to make sure your parts
supplier has given you the correct replacement crash sensor.
The mounting of the crash sensor is also critical. A replacement
sensor must be installed in exactly the same location and the same
position as the original. The sensor must also be firmly attached so it
won't break loose in a future collision. Altering the mounting location
or position of a sensor may cause it to trigger the air bag accidentally
or not at all.CRASH SENSOR CHECKS
The air bag control module self-checks the crash sensors every time
the engine is started, so unless the air bag warning light is on the
sensors are assumed to be okay. If a fault is detected, the air bag
warning light will come on and usually deactivate the air bag system.
Using a scan tool, you can pull the trouble code from the system and
refer to the appropriate diagnostic chart in a service manual to
troubleshoot the problem. Air bag service information can also be found
on the vehicle manufacturer's website (
for a list of websites and access fees). Loss of circuit continuity
anywhere in the air bag system, or loss of power to the air bag module
are common causes of trouble codes.
Because crash sensors are sealed units, you cannot always determine
their true condition by outward appearances. Any sensor that is
obviously sustained physical damage as a result of a collision or other
damage should be replaced. But what about ones that look okay? Most
electromechanical crash sensors are designed to be electrically open in
their rest condition. So one quick check you can perform is to check for
continuity with an ohmmeter. If the sensor contacts are closed, it has
not reset and should be replaced.
How to can i replace stereo
see this : God bless you
Review your car's owner's manual to see if it has any tips
on removing the current stereo. It may have a diagram of the wiring and
the area where the stereo is installed.
2
Disconnect the battery to avoid an electrical short while working with the wiring.
3
Use a screwdriver to remove the retaining screws holding in
your car stereo. Grab hold of the stereo and pull it toward you to
remove it from the dashboard.
4
Get a pair of DIN tools to slip on either side of the
stereo, if the stereo connects to the dash using spring clips and bolts.
These thin tools slide in easily, release the clips, and allow the
stereo to come out easily. You may need to remove dash panels when bolts
hold in the stereo. Take out the bolts and screws that hold the stereo
in, and then simply pull it out.
5
Look at the wires on the back of your car stereo. You should
see 2 wires attached to the stereo. A wiring clip protects the stereo
from vibrations and holds the wiring harness steady.
6
Pry the wires up from the stereo and loosen them using a
pulling/pushing motion. After working the wires back and forth, you
should be able to pull the wires straight out.
