1993 toyota pick up with a miss on cylinders 2 and 4
Lets start at the beginning.I'm going to assume it is a V6 engine since a 4 cyl would not run on just 2 cylinders. The injectors on each bank are wired together, so they all open at the same time.I'm going to ask how you know those cylinders are not firing ?If they were really dead, the vac gauge should show it with a shaking needle. And you should have a puffing sound at the exhaust pipe. You said the engine is new - did it ever run on all 6 cylinders ?
1993 2.4 4cyl. pickup starts but dies, replaced fuel pump and filter, has fuel inj.
spray some carb cleaner into the throttle body intake, i bet when you take the air feed hose off the top that it is gunked up, this needs to be clean at all times, really spray it everywhere inside the throttle body & turn the "Butterfly" over & pray both sides of it, then start your car, if it continues to die then it most likelt is a problem with the O2 sensors.
85toy.22r coolant leak/excesive water out tail pipe.
blown head gasket in the waterport, and not oil port reason it comes out the exhaust. since it's not in the oil, then an easy possible fix, is (K&W block sealer ( usually available at most autoparts stores) or like block sealer), K&W works really well just make sure you follow the directions to a T. if you don't it will plug up the radiator and you'lll be in the same shape. after you have done the process with the sealer make sure you change the thermostat
1993 toyota pickup hood hinge stiff/binding
Hi Cg, Not sure which Toyota you have? The Hilux has bolts from the hinge into the hood. There are two on each side and adjustments can be carried out by loosening these four. Regards John
How do I replace the fuel pump
You must raise the rear of the vehicle, drop the gas tank by loosening the 2 steel belts that hold the tank in place using a floor jack so the tank doesn't fall on you or break your fuel lines. There is a metal ring on the top of the tank with an electric connector and fuel hoses coming out of it. disconnect everything and tap the steel ring gently with an adequate tool such as a rubber mallet and a flat head screw driver or chisel. Once the ring turns about a 1/4 inch, it comes right out of the tank. Re-install the new one and reconnect your lines and connectors and raise the tank and secure it. Piece of cake!
