How to repalce crank sensor
It is at the front on the engine. Probably have to remove the harmonic balancer (Lowest pulley on the engine) to get access to it.
What is the shift l button do
The shift l button locks the truck into first gear. I use it mainly for pulling something very heavy up a steep grade. There should be an LED indicator light on the button. When the light is on, the truck is locked into first gear. push the button again to turn the light off and unlock the transmission.
How can I reset alarm?
The black reset is to reinitialize the TPMS system.
It sounds like you may have an aftermarket alarm since you described a red reset button under the dash that is not factory?
What I would suggest is to grab a flashlight and look under the dash on the drivers side. You may need to remove a trim pannel to gain access. You should see a black box with a bunch of wires randomly going all over the place (stock wiring is nice and neat comparatively speaking). This will be the aftermarket alarm. There should be a model number on it. Google search that model number and you should be able to find all kinds of info on that system. I’m happy to assist further over the phone at

No power to ECU 06 tundra
your anti theft device is activated, you need to lock and unlock your doors a couple times with the key fob,not the key,and then you need to put the key in the ignition and start it,if you dont have your key fob, call your car dealer to get a new one, they are programmed for each car only, you cannot bypass it.
Tuneup 2006 tundra
A "tune up" is not rquired on this engine, the computer makes al necessary adjustments, there is nothing to adjust. Possibly spark plug replacement if it's a V-6 they should be replaced at 30,000 miles the V-8 engines use iridium plugs which last about 100,000 miles, the timing belt on both engines should be replaced at 90,000 miles, replace the air filter every 30,000 and change oil and filter at 4,000 miles. I would aslo recommend cleaning the carbon out of the throttle body at around 60,000 miles to prevent low idle and stalling.
Changed the battery and alternator on my 2006 tundra still not charging. Runs 30 min. And dies . Any help ?
Go through the basics.
1 Make sure the alternator is charging (operating properly) by measuring the voltage between earth (battery negative) and the live terminal. It should be greater than 13 volts, less than 15V.
2 Make sure the regulator is being excited. Most modern alternators need to have the dash light working in order to send a minute current to the alternator regulator to kick it into life. If the dash light is out, (fused) the alternator won't work.
3 If the voltage from the alternator live terminal is good, check the voltage at the battery. It should be between 13.5 and 14.8 Volts. If this reading differs from the reading at the alternator output, you have a wiring issue.
4 Wiring issues may include but is not limited to:
a) bad connection at the battery terminal
b) bad connection at the main fuse,
c) bad connection at the starter motor. Some vehicles pick up the main power from the battery cable at the starter solenoid.
d) broken wire, bad connections on the main power lead connection terminals.
Happy hunting!
