The battery is dead. Recharging (or replacing) the battery will remedy those symptoms you describe. Recharging the battery is a lot cheaper if you have access to a charger or can remove the battery and can take it to a service station for recharging.

Code p1349 in toyota echo 2004
Under certain conditions customers may experience a MIL "ON" condition with DTC P1349 indicating a variable valve timing (VVTi) malfunction. In some cases, the cause of this DTC may be the VVTi actuator.
In general P1349 is a misfire or ignition issue under most general OBD-II - but Toyota spec'd OBD-II has it as a VVT malfunction. Unfortunantly - hard to tell which it is. Might be the ignition timing set too advanced (VVT-i issue) or low fuel pressure (bad or clogged injector, bad or low flowing fuel pump/regulator). An emissions test could tell you which one it is. If you want to try a quick fix on your own, I'd start with the basics, change the spark plugs, air filter, and maybe the pcv valve, all these are cheap and easy. Other things could cause the problem though, so if the quick fixes don't work, I'd lean toward the injectors.
Seafoam and other additives are very good solvents that can help clean the injectors - but may not be strong enough to clean off these injectors. Injector cleaning services generally don't work that well - best way is to have these cleaned ultrasonically or replaced (very costly).
I hear that a lot
toyota uses a synthetic fluid they say is lifetime but i have seen alot of latemodel toyotas that the fluid was smoked and we changed it , just make sure you buy the fluid from toyota about 10.00 /quart for the purple stuff we mostly drain and fill as it has a screen and not a filter so it is not necessary to remove the pan , it shouldn't cost too much more than i think you only need 4 also all fluids have a lifespan i think that manufacturers of the sythetic trans fluids say 30,000 miles reg fluid life is 15-20,000
How to set the cam timing when head is off?
Same way as if the heads on. Both timing marks are straight up and you'll need the hold the cams with a fixture or vise grips on the rough part of the cam to hold them with the marks lined up as they will what to turn off the mark. both cams if on the mark though willwant to turn towards each other just a little bit if you don't hold them. this is a good position to put the head on and as you put the gears and chain onto the cam you can turn the cam the litle bit you need to get it to to line up. Put the intake cam gear on first and it's easier. don't turn the engine till you get it right as you can hit the valves to the pistons real easy on this engine and wherever work to the head you did may have to be redone or the head replaced even. Any guides or tensioner parts that look anywhere near worn out need to be replaced and the tensioner need to be cleaned and retracted or just but a new one or the whole timing kit. sure I've used old parts and got away with it but most of the time I ended up doing the job again inside of a year. If you like the peaple your working for change to new timing parts.

Need to check transmission fluid
So what's your question, if its were you should look its usually on the passanger side and is normally a red/yellow/blk stick that says Trans on it. You need to check it with the vehicle runing and on a level surface..
When do you use the over drive?
leave it on all the time is better miles per gallon you can turn it off if you are going on a steep hill and you accelerate and down shifts and as soon as you let go a little it shifts back up you can turn it off to keep it at a lower transmission gear its really like down shifting when is off..
