I have a Peugeot 406 year 2001, familiale(SW). The car has a problem in the automatic transmission. Every morning, when I leave to work, after a couple of miles the transmission skips the gear and goes to a "SAFETY MODE" state. The leds for snow and sport start flashing. I turn of the engine and turn it on again and the transmission goes back to normal. This happens up to three times in a row. After that it does not happen again until the end of the day, after some 8 hours on the parking lot.
Wat is wrong? Can somebody give me some tips to fiz this problem?
Thanks
Possible causes are; Low fluid level, bad pump, bad control valving, or a bad torque converter....accordianman

My son has a Peugeot 206 1.4 HDI which has suddenly begun to lose power, particularly when going up hills. There are no warning lights showing and nobody seems to have a clue as to the cause. The mas airflow sensor has been replaced today but has not resulted in any improvement. If the airflow sensor is disconnected, the performance improves. A few weeks ago the engine coolant needed topping up and has needed more since, if this has any relevance. You can contact my son directly on andy_h91@hot,mail.com

After putting on a new sump i found that the starter motor would work cranking the engine but no power is going to the glow plugs. The light on the dash does not appear either.
The relay for the coils does click but that is the end of it. I have a suspission it is the imobiliser but after taking the battery on and off several times to reset... still nothing.
There is fuel, good battery (fully charged), fuel lines are clean pressurised...

ihas just recently purchased a peugeot expert van1.9 deisel 1997 R plate and the heater/blower has stopped working . i have tried checking the fuse but with no plan of which fuse is which i'm not having much sucess. i've also tried to feed alive wire from the battery to the power on what i believe isthe blower but no success. i've tried testing all the live wires that seem to connect to the blower no success. i need areally easy to follow instructions on how to solve this problem, please note it is peugeot expert van 1.9 deisel 1997 on r plate. this was not in the category section
hi, had same problem twice with my 98 expert , first time it was heater control board(the slider sends a varying voltage thru the thin green wire at the motor plug, to a semi conductor encased in an ally heatsink when checking motor operation check thick red wire for 12v, and thin green for 1.5-4.5v, depnding on slider movement, and thick green for earth conn) , second fault was overheated conns both at motor conn and at relay(mine was bright green cased one behind glovebox), Terry

1998 1.4 Peugeot 206 LX
My car is overheating at random. This weekend it overheated travelling only 5 minutes down the road. An hour later i tried it again and it was fine. The oil and water levels seem ok. Any ideas?
It sounds like your thermostat has gone bad and sticking close, Replace the Thermostat and Antifreeze. When replacing the thermostat, buy a fail safe thermostat so you will not have a overheating problem when the thermostat fails. Good luck and hope this helps. Keep me posted, be glad to help.

Peugeot 106 1.0 litre, temperature warning light on dash comes on one or two minutes after starting engine, sometimes stays on or intermittently goes off and on whilst driving. Also the radiator cooling fans stop on for a while when the engine is turned off and the ignition key taken out, i'm guessing this is linked to the warning light fault. Coolant level is ok.
hi, if the collant level is ok and the car isnt over heating then check the heater works in the car and make sure it gives of heat when hot is selected if it dont then the chances are the thermostat has gone and needs replacing.
If on the other hand you have heat then the chances are its just a faulty temp sensot these are cheap to buy and easy to replace.
Let me know how you get on or if you need further assistance ok

its at the very bottom of the dash line most are orange but I had the peugeot expert ( same van reall) and it was black on the passenger side right under the glove box part, I have seen them on both sides of these vehicles so just look along the very very bottom of the dash. its only small though about 4 inches long and 1 inch wide.

i need to fit a fan belt on a peugeot 306 estate
just in front of the altenator, there is a 10mm bolt, tighten that and it will tighten the fan belt .
these belts are quite tight, make sure the one you have is the correct length, sometimes the suppliers will send one that is close to the correct size, and is sometimes a few milimeters smaller.
You dont normally have to loosen anything else, but the easiest way is to put the belt on the alternator, tensioner and power steering first, then ease the belt over the ridge of the crankshaft last, one rib at a time, but evenly all the way around the pulley.
for more step by step instructions with proper diagram please click on this link directly
