when you where taking off the selectors did you remove one of them by taking off a 13nut? if so the selector under this nut dropped into the gearbox and its not lined up properly u need to remove the top of the gearbox and allign it.takes some messing around to get it right

its a dodgy sensor ---but what one?? i would go for the autochoke one first but i have no idea what one it is ,now ask me about a seat 124 or a seat 1500 ,same as fiat but made here in spain

My info is that it should take 2,8 litres with oil filter and it should be full synthetic oil grade 5w40. Hope that helps

sounds like a direct power feed from the battery has been left off. its a small lead that provides a constant feed to the parts of the car that needs to stay live when keys out,

check sensor: disconect conector. you have 3 wires. first(green) and last(black) are suppy should be around 5V. if not check wiring.
If ok: conect conector and access conector terminals (or wires) and conect LED test lamp between terminal 3 (black) and 2 (also black).briefly krank engine. Check that LED flashes.

These gearboxes were notorious for failing the reverse gear. The reverse gear wears out easily and keeps popping out. You can try shifting the gearbox into 3rd gear before going into reverse. This helps align the syncros in the tranny. Of course make sure you are not moving or if you are have the clutch depressed when shifting.
