Find where the alarm is hooked into the electrical system Usually where the wires come out of the steering column from the ignition switch. They cut the main feed wire and hook up the alarm. Disconnect the alarm wires and re connect the oem wires. They will look alike

Hope you can read it? If not I'll try something else. See the compressor relay, that line with arrowhead is load side of relay, when relay is energized that arrowhead moves to other terminal, that is a fuse protected circuit, goes hot with the key on, underhood fuse box/power distribution center f6--15amp. The left side of relay is control, needs voltage and ground. fuse f5--25 amp interior fuse box and is wired through selection switch. As you can see, the computer grounds control side of relay.
Your second paragraph sounds like a big voltage drop, somewhere, I'd have make sure battery is good and charged up, check battery connections and check your charging system.

we cant teach a year of school on topic in this box.
but can say if you had voltmeter
and used it , to find the Break point of current,
you'd already know what wrong.

google how to test automotive electrics, or buy a book?

gauge stuck high or low or"??????????????
how to ?
with no tools or with ?
got meter? or nothing.?
is tank full now, empty?
knowing that we can check the sender.
using an OHM meter, dmm set to resistance
unplug sender and check its ohms to ground.
infinity reading is bad sender
btw at 63ohms the sensor is at, cause the low fuel lamp to glow.
page 8e-6 in the factory manuals shows doing all this.
its in every jeep book in print. XJ jeep.
8e-23 shows.
empty tank is 105 ohms
1/2 full is 33 ohms
and full is 5 ohms.

first is fuse good to cluster, do all other guages work?
then unplug C203, below near tank
see that wire,DB, (dark-blue)
measure it to with ohm meter, must read 5 to 105 ohms
if not and is why too too high .
unplug C307, and measure black to VT, (violet?)
100 to 5 homes if ok now, the ground wire there is rusty.
if not ok, the sensor is toasted.
if all this check ok.
then at c203, DB wire ground that wire,
and gauge must go to fULL key on,
if not . the DB wire is bad, or custer guage, bad,
if this test fails we do this same grounding test
at the actual gauge. if fails, gauge is bad.

MANUAL Transmission I presume (4 or 6 cylinder)

IF you can work it thru the gears... while the engine is OFF... it is the clutch... (otherwise a major malfunction of shift levers/forks)...

A sudden failure of the clutch would MOST PROBABLY be the linkage:

I sincerely believe you have hydraulic cylinders check fluid level, hose etc. (any wet spot is you exact problem area)

Most costly parts are the Rock Auto Master... $24 to $50 and the
$lave cylinder... $18 to $70 (interesting)

(personal opinion... if one goes bad the other will soon follow).

which engine.?
the XJ has a serp, in the USA LHD. (left hand drive)
most have no auto tensioner (sorry !) its not a GC.
the 4.0L has a screw drive, tensioner, not like on new cars.
the force is below. why not just buy a new one... start fresh.????.
if the screw, below the PS, that huge long screw was never set right then it will slip, most shops are to lazy to do it right
or too cheap to own the simple tool to measure tension.
as you can see its NON TRIVial AT 180 LBS.
FROM THE XJ BOOK, ,valid to 2001. RHD never LHD cars.
and never export cars. 4.0L only., so.....

TURNS OVER MEANS ZERO.
the starter just CRANK.
THE START MOTOR TURNS
IF lucky so does the crank shaft turn.
then the engine starts and runs, (this is not turns)
it's running
the EFI then sustains running , if ABS stays happy.
the engine can also stall.

wow no symptoms. no sound sure, but in a/m f./m , cassette, or CD and or USB port (MP3) are all dead too>? and is the dial dead TOO>? 100% dead, is that it? ill assume !00%
factory radio have password codes , never aftermarket radios.
so???
ask kenwood, the answer is NO !
your operators guide (jeep) is useless for swapped in radios.

how?, is super easy and 10x on a bench.
no matter.
there is but one 1 wire for power, (on all aftermarket radios) this is a standard, RED wire, must have 12vdc, (ever use a simple voltmeter)?
if radio case and black wire is grounded. are they'
if yes the radio is DOA.

some DOA radios (10000s of models made in 40 years)
have fuses inside or in back of radio, look on back first.
if you seen nothing there, it got none.
open lid, see fuses inside,?

MOST OF THESE HAVE A TORX BOLT ON TOP AND BOTTOM, YOU WILL NEED SOMEONE TO LIFT UP ON THE LIFT GATE TO ALING THE BOLTS STRAIGHT

You are still getting high or low voltage at tps? What is the voltage and do you have a unstable idle? Put you + lead on terminal 3 and - lead on terminal 1 turn ignition on and check voltage to be at approximately 5 volts. You can also back probe with it connected at center wire and ground probe to a good ground at engine. Turn ignition on it should read between 0.20 - 0.90 slowly manually open throttle it should rise all the way to 4.5 voltd at full open. If its bad change tps if no 5.0 volts from pcm on first test check connections at pcm. The center tps connector supply wire comes from pin 22 and connection 3 ( which is 5 volt supply ) comes from pin 6. You should be able to back probe pin 6 turn ignition on and have 5 volts. If not 5 v brain has problem.
