You have a HVAC air temperature control blend door failure. To repair this the entire dash assembly must be removed if you can even buy the parts needed, which I doubt.

Brake problem! Front brakes are grabbing when the

Sometimes a caliper can stick, making that brake be engaged all of the time. The reason it will get worse as you drive (and the burning smell) is because of friction that is created. You need to start by finding out which side the caliper is locked up on, and replace it. Usually it is only held on by two bolts. Since you have been driving around on it that way, you will need to replace the brake pads on both sides, and the rotor on the side that is locked up (although it's best to do those in pairs too). When you get the new caliper installed, you have to bleed the new caliper by having someone push the brake pedal as you slightly unscrew the bleeder valve on the caliper. You should use a small hose connected to the bleeder valve and submerged in a small glass container of brake fluid so that you can watch for air bubbles. When the fluid and air stops coming out, tighten the valve, have the assistant release the brake pedal, and repeat until no more air comes out. Don't forget to keep the master cylinder under the hood full of brake fluid.

Blowing blue smoke is NOT an issue with the turbo, it is an issue with either piston rings or valve guides. You need an engine overhaul.

Where do you find the engine numberon a 1999 saab 95 wagon with a 2.3t. the turbo is shot and the parts store needs the engine number to be sure they order have the right one.

Looking from the front of the car, the engine number is on the right side, down low near the gearbox. See the (unfortunately rather unclear) diagram below: 25706289-cdc012op30mhwwuxpkwwrhwn-5-0.gif

Refitting Saab 9-5 Turbo

The turbo is located on the front cylinder bank, under the engine cover and heat shield. The exhaust turbine housing is integrated into the exhaust manifold so this entire piece must be removed. Contact me via email and I will provide information on where to get your turbo rebuilt.

Replaced ignition switch/key/ security module on 1999 saab 9-5 now won't start, will turn over

It surely does. If you got the key, switch, and module fro one car. Go back and get the engine control module. This will work also. But beware. The engine module must fit you engine and transmission. Also beware. Some security modules are one time only program. Meaning, you have to buy a new one and have it programmed.
