Air supension stays too high

There could be a couple of problems, first and easiest is the rear height sensor became disconnected from its mount. This is common because the sponsor clips on by a kinda weak spring and can be easily disconnected.also where the sensor mounts is a small round metal ball that screws onto frame and rear suspension, the balls after time wear to the point that the sensor spring cannot hold on.there's also an adjustment on the lower mount, if you move it up the vehicle will lower....then you could have a concern with the air compressor vent not allowing it to vent down to ride height. Or the vent solenoid on top of each bag stuck also not allowing it to vent..to ck it yourself, go for a short ride around the block and when you come back park on a level surface, shut off car, exit and close door....listen for an auditable click in the rear, and front left corner of car and watch the distance between rite and wheel lip, see if it drops. If it does I would be leaning towards the simple adjustment...also check thr front ride height on level surface, if you have a suspension problem on 1side of the car and it sits lower,it will throw off rear ride height. ...

What is the code if a 1990 ford airbag light code 10

The code 10 for srs (air bags) is the thermal fuse inside the diagnostic monitor is blown, it will do this if vehicle was in an accident, airbags were deployed and crash sensors trigger, safing sensors were also triggered or if the circuit to the monitor was at one point shorted to ground blowing fuse.a code 10 is just telling you the monitor thermal fuse is no good snd you must replace module. But if vehicle was not in an accident and you had a different code flashing at some point, usually a code 5 showing a hard fault short,or if it's flashing that now, this MUST be repaired BEFORE the new monitor is put in or you will ruin new monitor, and there not cheap.

How to remedy dtc code P1000

A dtc p1000 isn't a fault code, it basically. means you have to continue to drive you car until all engine monitors finish their test and no faults are happening. When you either disconnect your battery or had someone run a scanner test on it and clear any fault codes, it clears the memory of the p.c.m and monitors that watch certain systems on the car, o2 sensors, misfire, evap system, cat efficiency and others to make sure everything is ok.it has to go through 3 drive cycles and not see any fault for the p1000 code to go away..How long dies a drive cycle take? All cars are different, you have to drive above 70 mph for a certain amount of time, have to do no brake slow to stops a few times, maintain 35 for an amount of time and so on....at the dealership each tech has a sheet copied out of shop manual showing what we have to do to complete a drive cycle.sometimes you get it first shot, sometimes it takes a few trips.just 1 wrong and monitors will not pass..just be patient and continue to drive.Take it out on the highway and drive 10-20 miles and see what happens....happy drivi

Why does air supension stays too high compressor works

The system is not venting, it can be a few things, a bad height sensor, door jamb switch, solenoid on the air spring or compressor, the best way to find out what the problem is before you start replacing good parts is to have it scanned by a Ford dealer for about 60 bucks. I hope this helps

My 95 lincoln town car

check all your rounds on the body, behind kick panels, and in engine compartment. The relays you hear clicking are the power relay whcih turns your engine computer on. The other relay is the fuel pump relay, which is turned on by the engine computer. start there, report back.

PS. When you press the gas pedal to the floor during cranking, it shuts off the fuel supply to clear a flooded engine.

Air supension light on rear to high

Sounds like the system is not venting. turn the switch in the trunk off, open and shut the drivers door then turn the switch on. If it does not vent it could be the liner height sensor or a bad door jamb switch. Also a bad vent solenoid on the compressor can be the issue. you can have the system scanned for about 50 bucks at a ford dealership. I suggest doing the scan I DON"T suggest going to a junk yard and getting springs. there is a lot more to it, the springs have to sit on the axel properly, SAFTEY before $$$.. If you want to convert go to _ http://www.americanairsuspension.com/ .. Trust me there is no ride like an air ride! You can get the whole air ride system for $350 at Suncore

What are the sign's of your fuel pump going bad?

The most obvious bad fuel pump symptoms is your vehicle won't start, or it starts but does not run for very long before eventually stalling out. Your vehicle will act as though it is out of gas, even though the fuel tank is full. As the fuel pump attempts to feed the engine fuel, your vehicle may make bucking noises but will not spark up. If you do suspect that you have symptoms of a bad fuel pump, you can listen to it to see if it is operating. Electric fuel pumps can be heard when you turn the ignition to the second position, so if you do not hear any sound coming from your fuel tank with the key turned, your fuel pump may have failed or the motor may have burnt out. Also, if you notice that the fuel pump is making an excessive whining noise, it may be a sign that the part is on the verge of failing. Two common bad fuel pump symptoms that your vehicle may experience are engine misfire at higher speeds, or difficulty climbing hills. These symptoms are a sign that your engine is not getting enough fuel. If you are experiencing these symptoms, you may want to perform a fuel pump pressure test. In order to perform a fuel pump pressure test, you will require a fuel pressure gauge. By inserting the gauge in the Schrader valve (usually located in the engine compartment), you will be able to determine if your engine is receiving adequate pressure of fuel from the vehicle's tank. The required pressure reading will be different for vehicle specific applications. Most repair garages have one of these gauges on hand to perform this test. Your fuel pump may fail or become a faulty fuel pump for a number of reasons. Rust, debris and dirt may enter into the vehicle's fuel system, and may potentially be clogging the fuel filter or the fuel strainer. This does not allow enough fuel to pass through to the fuel pump which overheats the parts, causing damage. A second cause of fuel pump failure is damage to internal parts caused by small particles of dirt entering into the fuel pump. The fuel strainer and fuel filter were unable to keep these particles from entering into the fuel. Another major cause of a faulty fuel pump or failure is letting your gas level get too low. When the level of fuel is low, the fuel pump has to work much harder, becomes overworked, does not cool down properly, and as a result can be damaged. You should never let your fuel reach less than a quarter of a tank.

1995 lincoln towncar quit going in reverse without any warning

You may have been facing downhill and if your tranny is low on fluid, I can see where this might be your problem. Warm up engine and check the tranny fluid level in park with the engine running. An uneven surface is not a good place to find your answer, but if you have absolutely NO tranny fluid on the grid, I'd certainly try adding a pint or so to see if that'd make a difference.

Car won't start like its not getting fuel

Usually the Ford products have an Inertia switch which cuts off the power to the fuel pump. On some models, this switch is in the trunk right next to the Air-ride control. It has a button which just needs to be reset and then all is good. If you can't find the switch in the trunk, it should be around the front floor kick panels. Look on the Web for more info, just use 1995 Lincoln Town Car inertia switch in the search header.
