How to remove bolts from a2003 santa fe drive shaft
Hi Kris:
I'd start by soaking them with penetrating oil like loosen-all or a similar product, and if time permitted, leave them for a minimum of 2 hours.
Two of a mechanics friends are heat and air impact tools.
- applying heat to a bolt will lengthen it, thus reducing the tension, and, if lok-tite had been used, the heat will release the bond. So, some heat can't hurt provided there are no flammable fluids or parts handy, and you don't heat or damage any nearby seals.
- Use a six sided socket, and an air impact wrench. make sure you start turning it in the remove direction or it may shear off
Alternate............ Heat, penetrating oil, air impact.
Should work.
If you don't have air, you can apply some heat and oil, then try the six point socket, and flex bar.
Hope this helps.
