That sounds like a timing/ cooling system issue. The coolant sensor would adjust the timing etc. Your tech would have to scan the car & check the live readings (HOT & COLD) & check the emissions. Put all the pieces together & solve the puzzle
Does the motor crank (starter engaged and turning the motor)? If it does not crank, do you hear the solenoid clicking (engaging the starter gear into the flywheel teeth)?
Hi Jc, A fully charged battery is 12.6. The link below is a short youtube video on how to find out if a car battery has a power drain, The video starts with the guy loosening the negative lead to the battery then turns the multimeter on and sets it to 20 DC, plug bottom of lead to current mode and places 1 multimeter lead on top of the terminal inside the negative lead and the other multimeter lead on the negative lead and wiggle the negative lead off the battery, The current being drawn from your battery should be less than (5.0) 50 mille volts..... The reason he takes the negative lead off after connecting the multimeter this is to save any codes from the car as technically the battery isn't disconnected.....CHEERS..
How to Find Car Battery Drain
Buy a light tester first Connect gator clip to a positive wire battery is best now touch metal this will show ground Now pull lamp out Check the wire connections If no light comes on tester your ground is bad You can cut wire splice and ground chassis But always check fuses first This is how you find grounds If you installed radio or new electronics They could have spliced into the ground for lamps The light switch on dash is another place grounds go bad Light tester is what you need Everything else is simple
Throttle position sensor could be the problem Emmission control parts You mentioned idler cable Well there may be a second idler control cable Some vehicles come with a double cable adjustment The second adjustment is right above the gas pedal Turning screw Alternator giving out not producing charge needed But overall if your cars idle bogs down the likely culprit is your ac bout to go out The bearings in compressor wear out so it pulls more on the engine In turn bringing rpm's down Your car needs routine maintenance Ac is an expensive repair so i suggest bypass belt till you can pay to have it fixed
go on line to hyundai labour and find r&r transmission . there will be recommended hours for labour. remember to add also the hours necessary to do ancillary work like removing axles and anything else that has to be r&r to do the job.
