Noise in front wheel suspect inner bearing. can a

The front wheel bearing is a multi-piece hub type of bearing, and the hub assembly does have to be pressed back together if you want it re-assembled correctly, and I have seen people try and use a drift and hammer to replace that bearing and all that they managed to accomplish was to cause even more damage and had to also replace the hub flange. You can save a lot of money by removing the entire steering knuckle/hub assembly from the vehicle, and take it and a new bearing to a machine shop, and they will usually not charge very much to press that bearing for you, then all you have to do is simply replace the steering knuckle/hub assembly.

1999 GLE Sonata 5 speed

I just bought a 1999 Sonata "as is" and had the same problem bringing it home. The previous owner said it was a fuel filter or pump problem, but I found this online regarding recalls on this model:
VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: SOME SONATA VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH 2.5 LITER V-6 ENGINES AND ALL ELANTRA MODEL VEHICLES MAY HAVE EXPERIENCED INTERMITTENT LOW-SPEED ENGINE STALLING, WHICH COULD OCCUR IF THE MAF (MASS AIR FLOW) SENSOR ELECTRICAL SIGNAL IS INTERRUPTED AS A RESULT OF ENGINE VIBRATION TRANSMITTED TO THE MAF SENSOR CONNECTOR WIRING HARNESS.
You might want to ask your mechanic to check this out.

My engine light has come on in my HG 2003

I am very sorry to hear you are having this issue. The problem is that you have a plugged or partially plugged catalytic converter. The Catalytic converter is located in the exhaust system generally just after the exhaust leaves the engine. The converter is full of little balls made of palladium, titanium, and other medals. If uses these metals to hold some heat in the exhaust system and help burn off excess hydrocarbons. IT is a federally required emissions part so removing it is against the law. I would suggest that you go to a reputable exhaust dealer like Midas, or Car X and have them test the converter and replace it. This is a expensive repair, priced at Napa the original replacements are $460.00 each X 2. So it would be wise to have a muffler shop diagnose which one is the issue.
