Check Engine illuminates and Engine rattles

You looked at the coolant sensor? What did you expect to find? I mean, did you actually TEST it or just check to see if it was there? The only way to diagnose a check engine light is to pull the trouble codes from the computer. That's always the starting point. Then you do the appropriate diagnostic work to narrow it down further. All my main keys for my Hyundai Sonata 1997 V6 petrol 3.0L are now broken. With a cut key the engine just crunks without starting. What must I do?

The key must be replaced with a genuine Hyundai key then programed, the key has a computer that talks to the lock, sure it will turn over but will not start,

I have a 1997 Hyundai Sonata V6, 3 litre. How much would it cost to get a second hand transmission solenoid installed?

I had mine done in a Camry V6 and it was $435, being about half each parts and labour. You are best getting a new solenoid as this would only cost you about $80 more and it would be warranted. The job is best done on a hoist as the transmission bottom pan has to come off.

Hi Sean, where can I locate Water pump?

This is not a do it yourself repair .So if you do not want to destroy your engine take it to a competent workshop and have the car checked out as I already advised you.

For coolant temperature sensor why it appears sometimes and why it does not appear sometimes. What is the issue

You are asking multiple individual questions here when the problems are all related. You should ask one question and provide all the information about problems with the vehicle at once if you want to get the correct information in a reply.I have already answered this question when responding to your check engine query where you did not even to bother indicating that you were getting overheating warnings as well which I had assumed must be occurring and told you so.

Hi, After switching off my sonata 1997 coolant boils in radiator and reservoir

Quite obviously there is a problem with the engine's cooling system which needs to be rectified. You should also be monitoring the coolant temp gauge because it would be in the red.If you keep driving the car in this condition you will destroy the engine and very soon wind up with a car that will not be worth repairing. The cooling system will need to be flushed as a minimum and the water pump checked. I suggest that the water pump may have failed and will need to be replaced. (A new thermostat should also be fitted.)

How do I get the door panel off a 1997 Sonata, while the door is shut? The drivers door has jammed and the central locking is working, I can see it moving down the window glass and can move the rod ag

by gooseman...Member since:May 12, 2008Total points:662 (Level 2)Remove all the plastic covers that you see. There ought to be in by the door handle, and two under the armrest. You may need to remove the plastic cover by the interior door handle by pushing forward on the plastic unit. Check to ensure that all the screws are removed(philips), and tug gently on the door panel. There might be some or one that you may have missed. Do not force it off. There are plastic "anchors" that hold the door panel to the door itself. Some might break, but can be replaced with others from your local parts store
