'02 accent GS misfiring & O2 sensor slow response

HI first off the O2 slow resp code is an exhaust leak and not the O2 sensors itself. Slow resp codes is due to to the O2 reading 2 much oxygen or to little exhaust caused by a leak. Now on to the more important. first thing you should do is go buy a can of starter fluid or 2+2 gum cutter and spray it near the injector number one if the intake gasket is or the injector is leaking the car will sputter than run ok for about a second and then start miss fireing again. Dont buy a coil yet. Try this. get a plastic spray bottle and fill it with alittle luquid soap and the rest water. spray the coil pack and look and listen if you hear a clicking noise or a a blue sparking arking off of the coil, also do tis with a your spark plug wires. One last thing if your spark plugs are not ngk thay are wrong and that also maybe part of your problem.

Your pipes are corroded remove your water hoses and check where the pipes are corroded and replace. Probably a good time to replace your hoses and coolant when you have the system sound

97 Hyundai Lantra. Temp gauge shows engine very hot

If the replacement thermostat is good, and installed properly, then the temp sensor might be bad. I hate to tell you ($$$$$) but waterpump could be bad (more expensive)

Starting probles

have them check the ignition !!!

I had a 1990 Cutlass that did the same thing. It would turn over but not start when it got hot too or just cut out on me right on the road. I had it in the shop 2x's , thought it was fixed and got it out of the shop only to have it die later that night in the pitch dark. I had it towed back to the shop , they let it run , hoping it would cut out and it did. It was the ignition.. when it would overheat it would just shut off the car ... you couldn't start it peroid! Like you said 20 to 30 minutes later when it cooled down the car would start back up just fine ... then you'd drive it , it would heat back up, the car wouldn't start again for another 20 to 30 minutes !

hope that helps !

Think i have got problems with my hydraulic clutch

You didn't mention if you checked the hydraulic fluid. The resevoir is mounted on firewall driver side, usually next to the brake master cylinder. If it's empty, and after you fill it, the slave valve will have to be bled.
If that is full, it could be a bad slave valve, or you might need a clutch job done.
Some of the slave valves are mounted on the side of the transmission, and some inside the bell housing. Not sure where yours is, can't find my manual.

No Heat

hi this sounds like the elec operated coolant control valve has failed? common fault on ford models however to confirm this? if you warm engine to normal then turn temp setting to full hot do not put fan on yet! locate the heater hoses from engine to point they go into bulkhead of engine bay? feel each hose for heat ? if one is warm/hot and other much cooler/cold ? then cooler valve is not opening so coolant can flow thro heater matrix inside car understand?? unfortunate;y this valve is not servicable but is easy to change and not too expensive ? its location is normally at point prior to entering car interior and you will find it if you follow heater hoses? it may well be in bay below the grill below w/screen is normally plastic renewal will be apparent when you see it ? hope this helps ? just one point all above is on assumption you have checked radiator coolant level is topped up ?? if not this will also give no heat thro heater ? if very low

How much oil and trans. fluid to change?

check washer motoer as they jam up but often have problems with connections more often than not ,engine oil about 4.5 litres with filter ,gearbox ??never worked on an auto here in spain as spain only has macho men and autos are for tonto americanos and old people from northern europe.but getting all the oil out the transmission including the torque converter is going to be a job, remove the plate behind bell housing by the sump and turn converter as their may be a drain plug but i think this may only apply to older cars up till 1970 but have a look.As for this syncthetic oil i wouldnt bother use the cheapest from supermarket and change every 5000miles .all honesty your wasting you money on a shopping/golf course run around .trust me on this oil thing dont be blurbed by the publicity i used to test oil in ford dagenham factory and paying lots for a fancy container and beleaving the publicity ,trust me on this one
