Hi and welcome to FixYa!

As a first course of action I strongly suggest that you have an alternator and battery check. Alternator may need replacement for it may not be charging properly specially on short runs but doing good for long drives.

Battery may not be holding charge which can cause failure too. May I know what will make it start when it dies on short runs?

Hope to know more... Thanks!

When driving back right side

It could be a number of reasons, first of all chock the front wheels and put the handbrake in the off position then jack up the wheel and spin it by hand and see if you get the noise. If you do then you have a couple of things to check, One is the wheel bearing (when they go they normally give out a rumble or moan when running) Other things to look for are a broken brake spring inside the drum (If I remember right they are drums on it) removing it is pretty straight forward but if you are not sure of the process I can only recommend you take it to someone you trust to do the job. It could also just be a flake of rust from the drum that has got trapped or the shoes/pads worn out, to really find the fault the wheel and drum need to be removed. It's easy if you know how, removing any parts concerning the brakes need to be done correctly, it's your life at risk and maybe others if you get it wrong.

Does the car make any noise when you turn it over? If it clicks when you turn the key the battery is dead. Quickest way to check a battery is to switch your high beam on. Get out and check the lights. If they are dim then the battery either needs charging or replacing.

How old is the starter? New or used?

Heating has stoped working and there is a little

water in the oil will turn the oil brown like mud,is that what you see? if so,then you have a blown head gasket,do not run motor if this is the case as the motor wiil spin a crank bearing or lock up.are you sure about the water in the oil? look for real brown oil just like mud with bubbles on the oil dipstick. if the heats stopped working it may be because the radiator's low on fluid. look in the radiator for low coolant,if you can't see the coolant when you remove the radiator cap,it's low. with engine cool, remove the radiator cap 1st then start the engine. do you see steam and fluid blowing up frome the radiator? if so,you have a blown head gasket in the motor. head gaskets can blow and leak water into the oil or oil into the radiator. or blow and leak into the exhaust sysytem and blow coolant out of the tail pipe. three different ways for a head gasket to blow. usually the head gasket only blows when the engine has been run really hot!!! hope this helps.thank you for choosing fixya .com

I have an R reg Hyundi accent MVI Coupe and

I have the same model and year Coupe, and have problems starting it sometimes. I'm not sure it's the same problem you're having, as you say nothing happens when you turn the ignition key. On mine the engine turns over but doesn't start. It usually happens if I've been driving, stopped and then tried to drive off again.
In my case it's the ignition lead - to get it going I have to pop the bonnet/hood, pull apart the plugs that connect the two halves of the ignition lead together, then reconnect them.
I'm guessing the plugs are just slightly loose and/or the contacts need cleaning (haven't gotten around to sorting it properly yet). Loose plugs would explain why it's okay until after I've been driving; presumably the plugs get shaken loose during the drive.

Might not be the same problem on yours but it might give you somewhere to start.
Hope it's of some help!

Sometime this can be a sign of a bad clutch plate. This happens when you are pushing in the clutch, but the wheel that locks the clutch into the next gear just keep spinning.

Very difficult to start..cranking numerous

Ok, do you have a tach in the car? If so watch it while cranking. if it does not move you may have a crank sensor issue, test your fuel pressuer at the port. see if you are over 47lb, if so fuel pump is ok then, then take a test light and a paper clip, unplug one of your injectors, put paper clip into one end of the plug, hook test light to it, then put other end of test light ot the other wire, have someone turn the car over, if it blinks you have injector pulse, that should be all to it with the fuel system,

does it have spark? if you have fuel and spark, then you may be looking at a loss of compression, possible timing jump, bad head, bad rings,

i hope this helps you.
