Handbrke adjustment

the adjustment is inside the passenger compartment. will give you the instructions i have:
1. fully release the brake lever
2. pull the parking brake lever with normal effort. maximum travel should be 6 to 8 clicks
3.remove the console and adjust the cable length by turning the nut on the equalizer
4.recheck the parking brake stroke and adjust the stroke as necessary
5.loosen the parking brake switch mounting bolt. adjust the switch so that when the lever is fully released, the switch lamp goes out, and when the lever is pulled one click the switch lamp illuminates.
6.if the switch does not operate as described, check the switch lamp bulb. if the bulb is good, replace the switch.
7. after the adjustment make sure that the rear brakes do not drag when the parking brake lever is released.
8. install the console
hope that helps

Surging when hot, ok cold

Check your Idle Air control Valve and your EGR valve. Most of the time these will not set off codes but will give you problems like this and are easy enough for a none mechanic to fix it

Car cranks but will not cold cranks easily

your battery might not have enough cold cranking amps to get your motor running. consider upgrading to a stronger battery. but first take your current battery to a auto parts store and have a load test done on it.

2002 hyundai elentra hard steering

I do not know if this is problem or not but many of the automobiles made today have a steering pump that reacts to engine speed. The faster you go (to a point) the more taunt the steering. This is to give you feel of road and keep from over steering. Either you are not used to this or the pump or pump back feed information has a problem.

95 elantra GLS stays in 3rd gear

If a speed sensor, pulse generator, or shift solenoid is bad, it would make it stay in 3rd. But it would haft to flag a transmission code first. Have it scanned for codes first. If the tcm is bad, you won't be able to scan it.

1995 Elantra has no spark from plugs

A couple of Questions first. Over head cam? If over head does it have a belt? Have you checked fuses? You can check to see if you get a pulse at cam sensor. It will be in mill volts. You need to check power at coil and also going to cam sensor. Did it die quick or ? Check these then I'll get back.

No ecceleration under load

Most cars I have encountered with misfire problems were the result of several problems.   1.  Were factory recommended parts installed? (ie. Mazda uses NGK plugs not champion plugs.) I am also not an advocate of splitfire plugs and other after market parts. 2.  When was the last time the plug wires were changes?  I normally change mine every 60,000 miles regardless of engine trouble.   3.  When was the last time the cap and rotor for the ignition system changed?  Same as plug wires,I change them every 60,000 miles. 4.  If you accidentally crack the porcelain on any of the spark plugs, then you can also expect a misfire.
