Getting a code 172 rich fuel cond 1.9 liter

you might want to check the intake for leaks-let the engine run-while running spray some brake cleaner around the intake-if the engine boggs down or dies that means your intake gasket is leaking and needs replaced-this is very common

Will a 99 1.9 dohc fit my 2001 dohc

More or less, yes. As long as it is the 9 bolt exhaust manifold on the '99 then everything except the intake manifold will bolt into your '01. The intake manifold on your '01 is a vertical plastic type while the '99 has a horizontal aluminum type. Bolt off the '99s and put on your '01 and you should be set.

Saturn SC 2001 needs a valve body. any special

None whatsoever, it is extremely simple. Requires an 8 and 7MM socket for the pan and connector on top. The valve body is right on top of the transmission underneath the battery box. It can be done in 45 minutes by someone who hasn't done it before. Just remove the battery, battery tray, and intake and it's right there.

Do you have a rebuilt valve body yet? If not I'm in the business of rebuilding them and selling them, ready to be dropped in. You can check my ad listing for more details. Includes instructions with pictures and e-mail tech support.

2000 sc1 saturn trouble shifting manual

If your able to shift with the car off sitting in your driveway but not able to shift once the engine is running then you have one of several possible problems.

Problem 1) Possible clutch hydraulics problem where the hydraulics are not completely disengaging the clutch.

Problem 2) Clutch pressure plate fingers could be tired and not allowing the pressure plate to disengage the friction disc off the flywheel.

Problem 3) Not likely but depending on the abuse of the car, the synchros could be shot.

If the car has a decent amount of miles on it and is driven in the city a lot then Problem 1 and 2 are most likely the problem. So either way it's time to check some hydraulics or replace the clutch.

Hi all. I am at my wits ends with a problem with

Hi,

My sympothy goes out to you !

First, things first....

Ensure the battery is in full charge state (if not, fully charge it); disconnect battery cables, clean both cable & battery terminals, then re-attach and tighten. Ensure any in-line fuses on the + (red) battery cable are secure. Check that the MAIN POWER fuse in the Engine fusebox is in good condition and secure.

If you can find a quiet spot (inside garage), turn off all accessories, then turn key to the "ON" position (not start) - listen for a whirring sound - this means there is power getting to your fuel pump.

Your Radio, interior lights and other accessories often run on the same 10A fuse - found in the cabin fusebox.

Your RKE remote battery may be getting weak, which could cause intermittent operation.

Your vehicle has an onboard diagnostic computer which monitors approx. 80% of your vehicle's electrical components/devices.

Many of your vehicle's engine, emission & accessory devices are linked in some way, so if one (or more) components are having issues, this can disrupt the computer's readings....and cause havoc to engine operation.

If you are experiencing an intermittent power feed, this can also disrupt your onboard computer: operating parameters will be out of sync, causing rough running, until the computer re-learns your driving pattern.

So, before you go any further, I recommend you first have your vehicle's computer scanned by your local Saturn/GM Dealership to extract actual fault codes that may be stored (i'm 90% certain there will be some codes present) - you can then rectify these issues to start with.

If these are sorted and you still suffer electrical problems, then you may need the help of your local Automotive Electrician to identify any intermittent shorts in the wiring.

** If this has helped you in any way, please rate this solution ***

Cheers,
