2001 Jaguar XJ8 - Page 3 Questions & Answers
RADIO
I have a 91 XJ6 and have some experience with these Jaguars. First, do you have power to the radio? Does anything light up on the radio? If you have power you will need to go to a local dealership with the car and proof of ownership and the should be able to get the code for the radio. If you do not have power then check the fuse and wiring for a bad connection or bad fuse. Good luck, Ken.

yes u can , make sure the car is cold, you will have to remove the coolant expansion tank...at the bottom it has connection hose with a clip pin,Remove the clip pin,and to the side beneath their is a sensor,disconnect the sensor..then up top disconnect the upper coolant connection line,you will have two screws on some maybe three securing the tank,remove them,the tank will come out,replace with new tank reconnect the bttom hose and retaining clip,and then sensor,then the upper coolant line.Then fill with cooalnt crank the car ,turn the ac on on high,remove the bleed screw while car is running as you fill it up with coolant, continue filliung until the reservoir is up to the full mark and all bubbles have stopped coming out of the bleed whole...then put the bleed screw back,and the coolant cap...
ABS LIGHT AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT STAYS ON
ABS = Anti-lock Brake System.
TC = Traction Control System (Engine Control Module).
If the ABS lights on the dashboard permanently the ABS system is faulty. You must access the ABS & TC Electronic Control Units (ECU) memory for pull out all DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Codes), using diagnostic equipment connected to the data link connector of the car. Then you will be full informed about bad pieces (e.g.: front right wheel abs sensor interrupted, ...). After bad pieces replacement you will be able to erase all faults memored by ABS ECU, in other words reset the ABS system and turn off the warning lamp on dashboard.
I suspect bad brake pedal switch, but you should scan the ABS & TC ECU's.
I have a 2002 jaguar
The red light is for warning the amber is for caution so your caution light is on thats the amber the amber is reserved for local market like brake pads,oil change,or abs that affects steering stability, The information is exclusive only your driver handbook will define it

My 2000 Jaguar XJ8 has several different warning
42 miles with a jaguar. First I love Jaguars. Youll get to your home by a tow truck. The car is talking to you say its sick.Here is what will happen, The TRAC, ASC, light is on okay the APP will now go to limp home mode what this mean it will default giving limited operations, youll probable just go 30mph, and that is just it. The transmission does not know what gear or how fast its going so it communicates to the powertrain it tell it I dont know what Im doing so it activates the traction control and say keep me safe the traction control say okay Ill get disable, then the transmission control tell the powertrain I could be burning up or slipping. So The APP(acclerator pedal position ) gets involved and say we will just limp on home.Remeber i love juguars so does tow trucks
