Check engine lights keeps coming on 2007 hyundai

The information below was complied by me, it explains what causes the check engine light to come on and the process of finding the cause. When the Check Engine light (or Service Engine Soon or small picture of an engine) is turned on, the systems computer control unit (called the PCM) has sensed a fault in the electronic controls of the engine and/or the emission system. When this happens you will seldom feel the car engine run any different. There are about 200 possible system faults (the gas cap is just one of them) that turn the Check Engine light on, to know what has developed a problem you must have the system tested, this is called an OBD2 fault code test, Kragen/Oriley and Autozone parts stores (USA only) do this testing for free. I caution you on accepting any advice on what the problem is from a parts counter person, they are not trained and could cost you allot of hard earned money. Once you have the fault code post it here and I or another expert will take a look at the possiable casues.

Hi, the speed sensor is needed even on vehicles without anti-lock brakes. Is your speedometer working? If it is, the problem may be the wiring from the sensor to the computer.

Is there a trick to install the throwout bearing

Without fitting a new bearing to the release fork it is virtually impossible however, i managed to put one together by cutting an inspection hole just big enough to get your hand inside above the slave cylinder and manually meshing the release fork, bearing and spigot shaft simultaneously

PO429 error code

Hello Charles, If you have a failing O2 sensor, this code will set, but usually you will get an Oxygen sensor code as well. Check for vacuum leaks, unmetered air entering the engine. I hope this helps.

My idle keeps going up and down on a 2003 elantra

Since you've already attempted to fix this p roblem yourself, there's a lot more to diagnosing this issue on FixYa. I'd have to get my hands on your vehicle to properly diagnose the problem. You describe an issue that points to a 'vacuum' leak somwhere or a restricted pcv (polution control valve). OR, It might have a purge control solenoid valve (PCSV) which could be stuck open or partially stuck open. DON'T start changing parts unless you're sure IT's causing the problem.
The best advice.... have it properly diagnosed by a qualified Hyundai Service Technician - it'll save you money in the long run. This is ALWAYS the problem when anyone starts chasing parts in the hopes it'll fix it.

2003 elantra, vibration on rh

I know you say you checked the bearings, but I'm betting the right side front hub bearing is bad. They are really hard to check because you have to take the weight off them in order to turn them, and you said it goes away when you unload the right side. If you remove the right side bearing and turn it by hand, I bet you will feel some hitches in it.

When i go on a road trip and the temp outside is

If you are serious about 'vapor lock', then this symptom will/would show up during a fuel pressure test/check. Did they check this? The fuel pressure on the 2003 Elantra is 350 kpa (3.5 kg/cm, 49.8 psi). At this pressure, there would be NO vapor lock. Now, if the fuel pump is 'INTERMITTENTLY' dropping in fuel pressure, it will 'fuel-starve' the engine & the engine management fuel ADAPTIVES will show a shift in the fuel trims (lean condition) by adjusting the fuel trim adaptives to + (more fuel) by keeping the injectors open longer. However, this may not be the problem. There are numerous systems which could be the cause, OR two or more systems contributing to the problem. The best advice is to have this condition properly diagnosed. Since you've taken it to 3 different dealers already, perhaps you should find a 4th.

Hyundai elantra 2003 hard to start but if you turn

Most likely the pump, If you have no problems after it starts, then it could be the check valve on the pump sending unit or the fuel pressure regulator. Both of these can cause your problem. You have to do a fuel pressure check. this will let you know what is bad. If it is the check valve , I would let it go till the pump went out. You can not fix or buy one of these seperate from the sending unit. Costly for just the valve.
