If the check engine light(orange) when dash lights up then it is a mechanical problem. If the orange check engine doesn't light up then the security system is in alarm mode. Must have a tool to synchronize engine computer with BeCM. Very common problem

1996-1999 remove 4 nuts and peel out from top.2000-2002 remove upper plenum

turn key in unlock position and hold for 3 seconds.

either replace window switch pack or window regulator...no quick easy fix accept these two.

remove fusebox lid,,,observe diagram on label.

I guess you have to get it to the dealer somehow.

prcodes to becm and ecu had this a few times i solved it by new battery good one and unplugged rf box and had it coded no probs since crossed fingers

Hold down the BND button for 4 seconds and then put in code. This is what I had to do to get my radio in my 1996 Range Rover working.

please explain more as to the problem and why you think its the ignition switch

More than likely a burnt out bulb or no power to bulb.

Sounds like the throttle body is gummed up, or the idle air control valve is not working.

Have you checked the Brake master cylinder fluid reservoir for proper level? Please do so. If the level is good and with in the lines then replace the level sensor int e fluid reservoir.
