you've got to jack the vehicle up and rock the tire/wheel assembly back and forth from right to left, as if being turned by the steering wheel while you look to see which joints are loose. if there's clunking, it will be very loose and obvious just by looking. sometimes though you've got to put your hand on the joint to feel for play.

I have a red warning light on the dash of my landrover disc.

It's the low coolant light. Just find the overflow bottle ( it'll be marked coolant). If it's not low then the sensor that goes to the bottle is bad and may need replacing.

You need to start by removing the inner door panel, Remove screws that hold door pull and inside release handle. There are multiple plastic clips that have to be popped out. Use screwdriver but a trim clip removal tool works better.(Lisle tools part #35400). Once panel is loose unhook elecrical connectors to panel, peel back plastic vapour barrier, access to all latch parts, rods window regulator , etc is now available.

I have no heat inside the car 825 rover checked

no the water should bypass thermostat, its is more likly that either your heater matrix has an air traped or is blocked from sediment, i would opt to first try the blocked test . undo both pipes that go to the matrix , using a hose pipe connect to bottom pipe on matrix and turn hose on to flush out matrix, continue running until water runs clear not rusty colored, then connect to top pipe and repeat, repeat several times until your happy it is clean, reattach bottom pipe and fill from expansion bottle until water flows from matrix then re attche the other hose, you can also try this on your main radiater . hand book states it should be flushed every 2 years .

Offroad driving

when driving offroad it is better to get some air out of the tires to get better grip and smoother ride
in deepsand it is recommended to get it as low as 10 psi on each tire

do not forget to fill it up right when you get back on the road!

Hi:
Often the reason a belt is failing is due to a component being out of alignment, or the tensioner pulley failing. Check the tensioner pulley first. If it turns smoothly, install a new belt, and once you do, carefully look at each component to see if the belt is tracking smoothly on each drive pulley. Hopefully you can identify what is causing the belt wear.

What work was carried out by the local mechanic? Disconnection of the battery will only lose you the radio code and make the alarm system faulty until you lock down the car doors, windows sunroof etc and then press the remote locking handset a couple of times until it recognises the handset

Try to put a screwdriver from the front plastic grille, up to the lock mechanism and move it to open the mechanism. If the bonnet has opened slightly , then you need assistance. One person to try to lift the bonnet and another to push the bonnet from side to side.. Unfortunately its not possible to remove the front grille to gain access to the lock without braking the plastic grille, as there are screws holding it to the top valance.

How do you torque the bolts on the swivel houseing

Unless you buy a special tool, 9/16 crows foot , its not possible to torque the bolts. However, we use a 9/16 combination spanner and a ring spanner fitted to the open end of the combination spanner to give good leverage . Use loctite on the bolt threads and tighten by hand using the spanners. This will suffice.
Hope this helps
