Could be a blown head gasket. You may need another engine but a used engine installed should not cost more than the car is worth.

Are they on when your headlights aren't on? they shouldn't be. Maybe you just blew both bulbs, and you notice when you turn your head lights on. Your brake lights and tail lights are 2 different bulbs on that car.

Sound like you either had to disconnect a wire to get out of the way when you removed the altinator and didn't reconnect or you knocked one off go back and check your work.

I believe you have to have a puller to pull the pulley and the bolts are between the pulley and the pump

I would go and buy the bulb's, there cheap enough, it will cut time and aggravation also, if it doesn't work, check if it any water from rain.

sounds like its burning oil in a bad way. is there a lot, or a little? is it constant or does it only happen on start up?
