How do I replace the passenger side rack seal

If you can find just the rack seal, that's awesome. Most folks will try to sell you a rebuild kit or a reman rack. Most cars involve just separating the outer tie rod from the steering knuckle, sliding the bellows boot off the rack, then removing the inner tie rod with the outer tie rod and bellows attached (so you don't throw your toe adjustment out too much). Most rack seals are just like other seals and can be removed with a pry bar although there are specialty seal removers if you want to get the old one out without too much damage. Installation goes along the same lines as with most other seals. Light taps on the seal installation tool (I use deep sockets) while making sure it goes in evenly and completely. Rule of thumb, take a quick picture before in case you forget how to put it all back.

Stereo dos not work

first confirm fuse for radio circuit is good, replace if its blown. If fuse is good, and radio still not working, check power wires and plugs from back of radio to fuse block--check for broken wire, rubbing wire (worn insulation = short in circuit), loose connecting blocks, loose /broken wires in connection blocks. If that all checks out -- got to the nearest wrecker and get a 2nd hand radio OR by an aftermarket radio. OR pay an auto-radio shop to check your radio and maybe the wiring.

Adjusting Kia rio handbrake cable

The brake drum does not fit due to the pressure in brake cylinders. Some of the cylinders are designed to keep a little pressure on, even when the pedal is released. The reason is that you will have instant reaction on pushing break pedal because there is no free space between drum and pads. You need to take clamp and push the pistons back in cylinder, but only that much so you can fit the drum. After the drum is tightened you must pump the brake pedal until you can fell that there is no free fall. The hand brake should be ok, but check it just to be shore. If there is need to tension the cable, it can be done under lever from outside the car (you must go under the car).

I replaced the engine in a 20002 Kia rio and now it wont start. It gives a crankshaft position sensor code. I replaced that and no change. The only time I have spark plug fire is when I release the ig

There will be a camshaft and crankshaft sensor so be sure you replaced the correct one. The code its giving you is a dead sign of no start and a bad sensor. Make sure its electrical connector is hooked up tight and its seated properly.

2002 kia rio flashing codes P0036 and P0304

A P0304 code means that the the car's computer has detected that one of the engine'scylinders is not firing properly. In this case it's cylinder #4. Fuel is not burning -- could be flooding. Engines use O2 sensors to monitor polultant level. The oxygen sensors used a heated circuit to warm up the sensor for faster feedback operation to the computer. The oxygen sensor may use three or four wires depending on the vehicle, two are usually used for the sensor feedback to the computers (Powertrain Control Module (PCM) / Engine Control Module (ECM) ) and the other wires are for the heater to power the heat circuit. Three wire sensors are usually grounded through the exhaust system, and four wire sensors have a seperate ground wire. The P0036 code refers to the sensor after the catalytic converter The heater circuit may be supplied power or ground from the PCM/ECM or another source that can be controlled by the PCM/ECM. The oxygen sensor may get coated up due to improper grade of fuel (low octane vs high octane Nisson for example). When this occurs the cat converters get contaminated. the sensor will recognize too much fuel or excess contaminants. A inexpensive method to clear the problem is to run the engine for 2 or 3 tanks of high octane. The next step is to personally replace the oxygen sensor - use and after market on or one from the wrecker. Another cause if these elements failing, is the the fuel injectors are partially clogged and not allowing correct atomization of the fuel to the cylinder and therefore will not fire well and excess fuel. through to the sensors. Another cause is that the spark plugs have failed. I suggest: So do the inexpesive things first: spark plugs, concentrated fuel injector cleaner for at least 3 tanks and then every 3rd thereafter, then O2 sensor replace. It may take a while for all things to work as they should- but they will.

Kio Rio has codes flashing P0036 and P0304

Unplug your oxygen sensor and see if the problem continues. I there is no change I would check the oxygen sensor circuit for faults, fuse, line etc. You may change the sensor and still have the fault.

I have a 02 kia rio that has an electrical

I once replaced my alternator in a S10 three times before I got a good one that put out 14 volts, this one came with a lifetime warranty and cost more than the others. Chevy's used to have a problem with a rebuilt supplier. Have you checked for a bad ground wire? Try one more time but, make them test it before you pay and install it.
