according to local dealer the fuel filter is part of the fuel pump assembly and is not replaced during regular maitenance It is in the gas tank 2002 Kia Optima does not have a fuel filter Why they sell the part is still up for debate since nobody including the dealership in my town

I don't have a KIA but my car's auto fuel accesss door can be manually released from the trunk. Open the trunk and pull down the inside panel on the side of the fuel access door. My car has a green pull cable that will release the door. Try and find it. They must have provided a manual release for situations like that. G

its sucking in too much air, idle control valve stuck open or inlet manifold is leaking

there are 2 possible answers. 1 it looks just like an oil filter and is on top of trans. 2 if not then the filter is an internal screen and doesn't need replaced.

I think is supposed to do that.

Its underneath your transmission pan which is located on the underneath of your vehicle on the drivers side.

Some models have a spin on filter on the top of transmission, I see this less than 10 percent of the time.Allmmodels have an internal filter that is not designed to be serviced as a maintenance item.Drain and fill is the only service needed on the transmission on this car.Are you having trouble with the transmission?Let me know if i can help.
