Hi. Will I be able to tow a twin axle Compass Rallye with a Kia Sportage 2 litre 4 x 4. Jean

I would think how much you like living life. You should only do this type of job with a 3\4 ton truck something with more weight than the vehicle you are towing. This will be dangerous and would advise not to do so.

2000 Sportage kia automatic start when cold car runs get warm turn off car will not restart till car cools down. What could it be??

Check that the starter is getting voltage from the starter relay activated by the remote start module while it's warm, if not, either the module is not signaling the relay to click on, or the relay or module has a bad ground when the car is warm.

Electrical problem with fuel pump

disconnect the pump by the tank and put power directly to the wires to check it. You should hear it whining. If you do. the pump works. next check the pressure at the engine, you may have a plugged filter. if you find the wires from the front to back of the car has no power after checking for power on all components, ( the relay socket should have power on 2 sockets when the key is on) make sure this is so. If its not you need to make sure you get power on terminal marked 30 on the relay and either 85 or 86 (one will be ground the other power) if all that checks out you have a wire broken leading from the relay to the fuel tank.

My kia sportage 2001 is having issues with the

I had the opposite problem. My front hubs would not engage at all. My mechanic said it is common for the hoses or the actuators to break/crack with age through wear and tear. In my case, instead of replacing the vacuum hoses, I just switched over to manual hubs. Less convenient, but no problems since.

"WHAT" is making the 10amp meter fuse blow? Need mystery part.

If you put in another 100 fuses they all will blow, if you can't find what is wrong. I don't have a manual of any Kia car, but you should have a users manual, where it tells you what fuses you have and where they are used for. Start switching off all users. like radio, or just any thing connected to that fuse. If you don't have a multimeter you will not find much, but you should with everything switched of and un hooked, measure infinity on the ohm meter. Contact should be off of course. Then start switching on and connecting everything one by one and see what drives the multi meter to zero in a flash. there you have to fine the defective part or shortage. Difficult to explain on paper, what I could do with alms my eyes closed.

What is code P1115

Hi Betty:DTC P1115 - Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor Circuit Intermittent High VoltageThe Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor contains a semiconductor device which changes resistance based on temperature (a thermistor). The ECT sensor mounts in the left bank cylinder head near the front of the engine. The ECT sensor has a signal circuit and a ground circuit. The PCM applies a voltage (about 5.0 volts) on the signal circuit to the sensor. The PCM monitors changes in this voltage caused by changes in the resistance of the sensor in order to determine the engine coolant temperature. When the engine coolant is cold, the sensor (thermistor) resistance is high, and the PCMs signal voltage is only pulled down a small amount through the sensor to ground. The PCM senses a high signal voltage (low temperature). When the engine coolant is warm, the sensor resistance is low, and the signal voltage is pulled down a greater amount. This causes the PCM to sense a low signal voltage (high temperature). When the PCM senses a signal voltage higher than the normal operating range of the sensor, this DTC sets.12_2_2011_1_41_39_am.gifZoom Image Link: boggs/DTC%20P1115_files/image002Conditions for Setting the DTCEngine operates longer than 60 seconds.Conditions for Setting the DTCThe engine coolant temperature is less than -35 C degrees (-31 F) for less than a second.Action Taken When the DTC SetsThe PCM stores the DTC information into memory when the diagnostic runs and fails. The malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) will not illuminate. The PCM records the operating conditions at the time the diagnostic fails. The PCM stores this information in the Failure Records.Conditions for Clearing the DTCA last test failed, or current DTC, clears when the diagnostic runs and does not fail.A history DTC will clear after 40 consecutive warm-up cycles, if no failures are reported by this or any other non-emission related diagnostic.Use a scan tool in order to clear the DTC.Diagnostic AidsElectromagnetic interference (EMI) can cause an intermittent DTC. Inspect the related circuits for being too close to secondary ignition wires and the generator. If the engine sat overnight, the engine coolant temperature and intake air temperature values should display within a few degrees of each other. If the temperatures are not within 3 C degrees (5 F degrees), refer to Temperature vs Resistance .For an intermittent, refer to Symptoms .Test DescriptionThe numbers below refer to the step numbers on the diagnostic table. If DTC P0118 failed this ignition, this indicates a hard failure is present. When a hard failure is present, both the hard and intermittent DTCs set. When moving related connectors, visually/physically inspect connectors for the following:Poor mating of the connector halves or a terminal not fully seated in the connector body (backed out).Improperly formed or damaged terminals. Carefully reformed or replaced all connector terminals in the related circuits in order to insure proper terminal contact tension.Poor terminal to wire connection. Inspect for poor crimps, crimping over wire insulation rather than the wire.Dirt or corrosion on the terminals. Inspect the connector seals for being there and for being damaged. When moving the related wiring harnesses, visually/physically inspect the wiring for the following:Wire insulation that is rubbed through, causing an intermittent short.Wiring broken inside the insulation.Using the Freeze Frame and/or Failure Records data may aid in locating an intermittent condition. If you cannot duplicate the DTC, the information included in the Freeze Frame and/or Failure Records data can help determine how many miles since the DTC set. The Fail Counter and Pass Counter can also help determine how many ignition cycles the diagnostic reported a pass and/or a fail. Operate the vehicle within the same freeze frame conditions (RPM, load, vehicle speed, temperature etc.) that you observed. This will isolate when the DTC failed. For any test that requires probing the PCM or component harness connectors, use the Connector Test Adapter Kit J 35616-A . Using this kit prevents any damage to the harness connector terminals.Keep us updated and feel free if you have some additional question. Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I'll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.Thank you for using Fixya, and have a nice day.

What is P1624 on a kia sportage & how to fix it?

That code means their is a communication problem between the TCM (Transmission Control Module) and ECM (Electronic Control Module). The issue is normally with the TCM. but it is possible you have wiring problems. I would replace the TCM. It is located to the side of the drivers left foot.
