How do u remove a alternator from a 98 Kia sephia
Loosen the alternator belt, then remove the two bolts that hold the alternator to the engine block, one is on the top right corner of the alternator and the other is at the bottom right on the back.
You will have to remove the engine mount bolt, then you can jack up the engine in order for the alternator to fit between the intake manifold and the firewall.
My 98 sephia has no
First, to keep driving will only do damage to the engine if it is the catalytic converter is plugged. You can tell by running the engine and taking a short drive around the block, get out and look underneath the vehicle. You are looking for any part of the exhaust that is glowing red indicating a plugged/defective exhaust. Second, you don't go to a salvage yard for something like this. Go to a trusted exhaust centre and they will be able to weld in a new one. Usually between $125 and $200. Not uncommon for these engines especially if they have not been tuned up in a while. Let me know if you need anything else.

Where is the air conditioned filter and how
Look for large square box under hood near front driver fender well. Should have springy looking clips that you lift up like the old style toolbox latches. Then lift up the lid and the air filter will sit flat like a pancake in the bottom of that air filter box. Make sure you wipe any bugs out with a paper towel or cloth before replacing with new filter.
Timing
When you say timing marks are you speaking of the timing belt marks, heres the diagram to line up marks to timing belt, hope this is what your looking for.
Anyone have instructions on replacing
automatic or manual?
unfortunately my on-line manual doesn't provide any good pictures but either are fairly simple
even though I do not have a sephia in the shop right now to post pictures, all you have to do is...
remove the shifter trim
disconnect the electrical connectors
unbolt the shifter assembly
un-clip the shifter linkage
My turn signals and 4 ways stay on, they do not
The Flasher Relay is defective, replace it. It is located on the driver's side, behind the instrument panel, mounted on upper corner of dash. Purchase a new one so you will know what it looks like. May net be exactly the same but will be very similar.
