change fuel filler as normal then connect fuel feed from tank connect injectors leak off to fuel fillter leaving the rail flow pipe off this is the midddle one with the arrow pointing out

connect a piace of clear plastic pipe to this connection and slowly suck the fuel through the filtter and half way up pipe you can see this happen stop sucking the fuel will flow back to fillter take the pipe you were sucking through off and connect the feed to rail pipe turn on and crank engine she will start immediately

Hi,

I have a similar problem in my x type. Although if I press unlock button on the key first and then use the metalic key to unlock it dissables the alarm.

Also according to the manual if you unlock by the metalic key the car starts a beeping sound its I think 15-20 second timer within which you should put the key and start the ignition (don't need to start the engin) this will dissarm the alarm if not the alarm will go off in 15-20 second.

Hope this information is of any use, am trying to get hold of Jaguar dealers to fix this issue. If you come accross any solution please do let me know too

i had this problem and thought the fuel filter oil filter needed replacing so i have just had a service done but problem is still there but not as bad. been told it could be the AGR valve or a split pipe going to it which recuirculates unused fuel back to burn again. therefore unspent fuel is coming out of the exhaust causing the black smoke. i am still looking for the answer aswell, hope this helps.

Before anything make sure you H1 bulb is seated correctly on mount (that the dimple on the bulb metal plate is in he hole of the mounting plate. When you remove the spring clamps for the bulb, turn the bulb slightly in both directions until you see it/feel it slide in and re-attach the spring clamps. Check if this resolved you adjustment. If it is still off, you will see a hole on top of the core support above the head lamp where inside you will see an allen head type plastic head with an optional Philips screw insert. That is one of your adjustment screws for vertical. There is one on each side. Behind the head lamp unit (between the low beam and high beam) you will also see a white plastic gear button. This is another adjustment screw for horizontal.

how do you remove door mirror on x type jaguar

how do you remove door mirror on x type jaguar

open up the door and remove the black plastic trim piece that runs on the inside of the door. IT runs from the triangle piece where the mirror is up and over the window. From there, you will see a single nut. This holds the mirror in place. Undo and the mirror is now free. If I remember right, you can access the plug for the mirror at this point too. If not, you will need to remove the door panel (2 screws on the bottom, 1 screw inside the pocket near where your elbow would be if you were sitting in the car). From there, pull straight out towards you on the edges and the door panel comes off.

If you push the boot release button, and the number plate lights flicker, you have a chafed earth. Common, and has caught me a couple of times. Punch through the ski bag in the rear seat. Reach in to either side for the seat release cables. Pull and release the seat. Drop the seat then drop the second seat. Now lie on your belly and crawl into the boot to dismantle the boot release cover. Pull the arm and open the boot. Now you can work properly. With the boot lid up, release the cable guide on the left, and look for a chafed wire. fix it. While you are at it, fix a bike brake cable to the lock mechanism and run it to somewhere you can access it with the seats up, so that if it goes again, you can just pull the cable.
