their is a rachet and pawl ,like a hooked sort of shape that locks into the pawl or the toothed arc so have another look

water is getting in to the plugs. the rubber seals on the dis pack will need changing. take out the dis pack and plugs clean plugs or replace if been in longer than 4 years and renew the rubber rings on the dispack replace any thing with a split or bubbled look.

this isn't a job for a back yard mechanic.gasketts, tourque and many other things will affect the correct procedure

In the inlet to the exhaust converterif not,in pipe before itAll you have to do is look under the car& follow the exhaust system & O2 Sensorwires

you mite want to look for the mini horn or beeper that goes off and disconnect it. or look for a fuse diagram to do that in the owners manual.

That code is for variable cam timing over-retarded bank. Cost would be difficult to estimate without the exact problem being troubleshot. Could be anything from the computer to the wiring or to the actual variable cam solenoid itself. Maybe find a place that is knowledgeable about Jags and have them take a look

i have a 2002 stype jaguar and there is a key slot underneath where the lights for the number plate is situated. slightly to the right.

You may need a shop to look at this.Code 420 is saying the catalytic converter is not working well on bank one and code 430 is the same thing for bank two.There is an O2 sensor in front and behind each cat. The computer uses the readings from the front and back sensors to judge the performance of the catalytic converters.Since it would be very rare for both cats to fail at the same time, chances are the problem is a vac leak or injector problems with the engine. I would say something wrong is happening before the exhaust gets to the catalytic converters.

You may have a leaking head gasket if it is really overheating.

First, some people do not know that the domelight can be turned on by using the headlight control. If it is all the way to one side, the dome lights will turn on.The Relay for your Theater dimming lights may be stuck. Aside from this, a doorjam switch may be bad. Some switches usually show door ajar, but some switches have more wires and could possibly short while failing to post a door ajar notice.You can get free wiring diagrams and Relay box info at Autozone.com by registering your vehicle. Also check the dome light itself as many have 3 positions now off, door activated, and constant on.

Is the latch itself movable? If not, try spraying w/ a penetrant such as WD-40 to free it up. If the cable is stuck, try the same thing by spraying into the cable housing.

Yes it needs calibration . Start the car hold the lever for the electric brake all the way up for 15 seconds ( you should hear the brake motor run ) then push down to release the electric brake for 15 seconds . If they are no other problems the brake is now calibrated. Like i said in the procedure when you pull up to apply the brake you should hear the motor run if you don't their is a further problem like the relay or fuse .

Block rear of front wheels Jack up rear of car so wheel is off ground . Start car Put Foot On brake and select gear

Hi Iltcho, I would suggest taking the vehicle for a diagnostic scan and general inspection. My reasoning is that the fan begins operating at the normal running temperature and there fore I think I would look to an over heating problem instead of the fan operation. Which ever way, if there is a problem with the electrical charging system (which could mean that when the fan begins to work, it takes too much currant) and starves the spark for ignition, the scan will identify it, Regards John
