How do you remove a shifter noob from 1996 jagaur
There should be a small allen screw acting as a keeper and set screw at the base of the knob. Once the allen screw is backed out, watch you don't lose it, the knob should just un screw.
Just twist! Counterclockwise.
Depending on the knob you are going to replace it with, you may need the same allen screw or one may be provided to act in the same way.

This will help.Thanks.Helpmech.

Our 95 xj6 electronically dead. ignition switch
Check the voltage at the control terminal on the starter solenoid when you turn the ignition switch to start position. If you don't get anything, it's the ignition switch, a fuse or fusible link in the ignition circuit, or an open cable from the battery to the starter. If you get low or erratic voltage readings, check the battery terminal on the solenoid to see if you have the same readings. If you do, check the battery cable for corrosion or poor connections at each end. If you have full voltage there, the solenoid is bad.
If you get full voltage at the starter motor terminal, then the motor probably has bad brushes or commutator damage.

My 1995 xj6 alarm keeps
Hello james...the 1st thing to check on you jag would be the battery. If the battery has a weak cell and is starting to drain, it will trigger the alarm sensor. Similiar to a light coming on, or a door opening when the alarm is activated. Have your battery load tested at your local parts store to determine if it's in good shape. This is a free service. I hope this helps. Reply back if you need more help.

Trunk is not original. It
If there is no remote opener, or lever to pull, you're going to have to drill out the lock, and change it t one that has a key. Or, if you know where the trunk came from, you could maybe get a key from the junkyard.
The only other option is get the serial number off the donor car, and have a key made.
If you drill the lock out , use about a half inch bit, and drill till it kinda falls apart. You should see a little flat rod in there. If you are able to turn the rod with a pair of pliers, good. If the rod falls out, put a screwdriver in the slot where the rod was, and turn the lock.

I have a 95 Jag
We're working on our friends 95 Jag. He took it to a local shop and the gomer calling himself a mechanic started pushing buttons on the console. He pushed the top down button while the top was still connected. The rear windows thought the top was supposed to go down so they started rolling down. They stopped them about halfway down, but couldn't get them back up. But that isn't the problem. Now, we can't get the trunk open. The problem? The trunk is not the original. It came from a junkyard and he has never had a key. So the remote only works on the doors. How in the world do we get that trunk open. Our only thought is to go through the back seat, and that looks like way too much work. Any ideas?

How do i fit aerial mast only, to already existing
Typically there are two ways: easy and major surgery.
The easy way is available, depending on exactly how the old mast is broken....Car off, radio off, unscrew the external pieces of the antenna at the mount, right where it exits the vehicle...Have assistant turn on radio and activate the antenna. It should spit the whole mast and inner piece. The new one goes in, BUT BE ready to carefully and without kinks, feed the new mast assembly.
If this method does not work, you have to extract the entire motor assembly and open it up. Sometimes easier to replace the assembly.

Whats the best way to
You can either use saddle soap and scrub with a sponge or you can buy one of the ultra concentrate cleaners on the market. I use something called Advanage from
www.advanagedp.com and with that I put it on with a cloth and gentlely rub.
If the leather is dried out or cracked you should also buy a leather preservative to put on after you clean. So far, I haven't found one that is any better the the next so won't recommend one.

Hi Big,
Have the fuel filter replaced and if the fault persists take the vehicle taken for an electronic scan. You may that the fault is the air flow sensor, or an intermittent fault with either the crank or cam sensor. The scan will pin point where the problem is.

95 xj12 first radio worked
Thanks for choosing FixYa Bill and welcome. The loss of channels may be due to a bad wire, defective radio, loss of signal, or bad antenna. Your radio now, it is locked up because the battery was taken off. You will net to get the radio code to unlock the radio now. I don't know the code, but they are a few sites online that get them for you but they all charge money.

Check engine light on
Hello,
you need to get a OBD II device. The OBD II is a reader that will help to read the fault of the check light engine on your Jaguar. It will diagnose the fault and a solution can be proffered there after.
No one can detect the fault without diagnosing it with the OBD II reader.
Or you can take the Jaguar to an mechanic so that it can be read for you there.
This should be done for you with very little or no charge at all.
I hope you understand the above.
Good luck.

Welcome to Fixya
Car toruble codes tells you that there is something wrong with your vehicle. It might be minor problem or major problem. But the thing here is the car is getting a problem that might got worst if you continue to use it. I suggest not to ignore the error code and have it fixed instead of erasing it. Please provide me the code and i will help you analyze the problem.
Your response will be greatly appreciated.

Hello, I have a 2005
Is the latch mechanism stuck? of had the vehicle been in an accident and the trunk lid is damaged? If it is just the latch, try removing the rear seat and access the inside of the trunk that way. Then you can manually try to open the latch.
