I would have to plug a diagnostic computer into the car and interrogate the ABS controller for diagnostic trouble codes to find out what part of the system is causing the problem being detected and triggering your light to illuminate.

I think you have put a power spike through the electrics. Try disconnecting the battery give it a minute and reconnect. The alarm runs through the body processor you can't disconnect it.

The convertible unit is above the battery in the trunk it uses green mineral oilin the plastic resivoir on the pump unit

In the right trunk compartment, remove cover to expose pump. Turn pump to manual position and proceed to add fluid

Thick oil , brakes ,pulleys ,altenator

auto transmition fluid(ATF)

remove the rear heel board covers, locate one scew on either side holding seat cushion remove cushion disconnect wiring connectors if it has heated seats, locate 2 screws holding seat back at lower end, the seat back then lifts upwards,,note depending on vin, number there may be 2 upper fixings for seat back located in the trunk behind trim panel. hope this helps. i presume this is a XJ40 model and not a X300, however the removal procedure is similar.

The gas filter on the XJ6 I had was located behind the spare wheel in the trunk. I thought that was a place one would never think of looking! Not sure if that is where they are on a 1995 as the 95' 96' 97' models were a change from earlier and later models.

when you say turbo has someone fitted a aftermarket turbocharger ?or is it a xjr with supercharger? what model is it ? xj40 or x300, the only connection with the throttle pedal I can think of is the cruise control or the gearbox kickdown cable. all the xj40,s had a kick down cable, the 3.2 x300, also. the 4.0l x300 was electronic. start by checking the throttle cable, pedal, and throttle body. if it has a kick down cable try car with cable disconnected.this sounds a strange one, love to drive it have been a jag tech for 40 years

Check the battery terminals first. If you still have trouble, let me know.

First thing is to locate the relay/fuse for it it and make sure they are still ok...before considering on how much to fix. Should not be more than $100 parts and labor if you use a junkyard to get it.

leave car on flat surface and engine cooled-off...then remove dip stick check, wipe and recheck oil. It should be within the markers indicated

Can you get the trunk open? If so, you will have to pull to remove the trim inside your trunk behind the lock and see what's going on. The plastic clip that holds the trunk release rod in mine came loose and I just reattached it and haven't had anymore issues. If you cannot get in the trunk, you will have to remove the license plate and drill a hole. If you go to jaglovers.com and go to the X300 forum there is a blog with instructions.

Hi Ajinas, The codes you refer to can be cancelled with a diagnostic scan tool. As this is not a common piece of equipment I suggest taking the vehicle to a workshop and having the scan carried out there. Your technician will also be able to find out if any other work is required. Regards John

****Before you do this: Make sure you have your radio security code handy in case you need to reprogram it! With all doors closed (and with headlamps & ignition fully off), disconnect the main battery ground lead at the battery for about 1 minute, and then reconnect. That should do it, assuming your system was working ok before entering valet mode.
