Connie,sounds like ur starter motor is worn out its draining all your power shorting out , the squealing noises is ur belt slipping when ur alternator is trying to charge up battery, & the clicking noise is also starter it 's the soilnoied is trying to work starter,.. first just make sure that all battery cables and chassis cables are clean and tight and chassis to engine are tight , hope this helps get back if necessary Connie

first thing to try is ur air filter, make sure it,s not plugged with dirt, if so, buy another.. not expensive..check inline gas filter.. normally found under car towards the back.. it will be connected to gas line to catch dirt.. ur problem is normally this problem, gas filter .. let me no how u do ...

I also have a 2001 Hyundai Elantra.Awhile back (about 3 years ago maybe) I got a recall letter in the mail saying there was a problem with the airbag if any liquid was spilled in the area around the e-brake. I never did go in and get it fixed. then last year after spilling coffe all over the ebrake handle my airbag light came on. Not sure if it means it is defective or it just need to be checked.

2 ways to do this --1 is to remove the axle and fit genuine boot or 2 get a boot from an auto spares shop --cut the old boot off and clip the boot over the joint. Use the rubber glue provide in the pack and clamp the ends on the shaft.. Quicker --easier and costs less.

This can be several things. Loose rod bearings, valve lifters, piston pin play, etc.Two things you can try. Rislone and then an oil change. Then synthetic oil in the proper weight for your engine.The synthetic oil flows better and if you have oil related problems it should help.But if you have mechanical problems, it will not fix them.I believe you have a 10 year/100,000mile warranty.for that engine. Consult Hyundai about the current problems.

Check starter relay,starter solenoid or battery cables.

Check to see if the Check Engine Light comes on when you first turn the key on (without cranking the engine). If not, there may be a power issue (fuse). Make sure that you have spark and fuel injector pulses. There may be a chance that the timing belt jumped or broken. Sometimes you can tell by the sound of the engine; rather than the usual sound, it makes when cranking, you may hear the engine cranking unevenly or faster than normal. Sometimes you can tell if the belt is broken by removing the oil fill cap and looking for valve train movement. Otherwise, an engine compression test will sometimes help to diagnose this. Sometimes the timing belt cover has to be removed to check for this condition.

May need new valve cover gasket and plug well seals as oil may be escaping and getting to spark plugs.

It is a separate injector on a timer switch that is used for starting a cold engine. A cold engine needs more gas for good driveability.I think it would be located on the intake manifold, but not positive on your Hyundai.
