old post all do, everyone. but. the devil really is in the details with EFI. this IAC valve does that, to speed it up warm up , put in a 195F thermostat. this assumes 800 RPM is hot. most of these engines, do this. new. bewlow. 1: cold start, for 3 to 15sec, 2500 rpm , worse in alaska. 2: then the above DASH pot closes and IAC takes over, at ~1200 3: then as engine heats the IAC closed inch by micro inch a its now 100% closed and the ECU not controls idle hot. using the modulated ISC, there is a fast idle feature on this year, 950 to1000 rpm hot with these turned on. 1. headlights hot. 2: defrost glass, rear. 3: heater fan on. 4: a/c on if opted. other wise 800 is normal hot.

easy, 1.6L G16 or the G13< ill answer for the G16 EFI car. open hood. look under and up behold the EPA sticker, its right there in view. every part of the diff? why not just ask for the job,? brakes. what? its at alldata.com there are lots of parts there , why not say? pig housing drum bolts. You will need to trace the wire to find the short that is blowing the fuse. It can be in the harness somewhere. Usually the harness will be rubbing against the frame parts until it gets to the bare wire. It does take years to get that far

89 has the old stand alone spark distributor. the ECU is spark free, (no player here) so here is the list for this engine 1.3 or 1.6L the 1.3 has a carb. (last one) and is NOT EFI , you never said which engine it has. so ill guess at the 1.6L This engine will have hard starting for the fooling reasons. we dont guess at it we just do the tests.

• Bad fuel.
• Never tunedup this decade or every 60,000 miles per opr. guide.
• low engine compression 150 good, if all are very low the cam timing belt slipped., (they all do , ignored) and is 60k service point.
• CEL dead key on, bad ECU or lamp bad.
• CEL glowing running, its telling you what is wrong, get the flash codes (DTC's)
• Too high fuel pressure. (bad regulator in front of TB)
• ECT bad. the 2 pin engine coolant temp sensor is bad. test it.
• The injector leaks in the throttle body (look with eyes)
• You find that adding 5-10% throttle cranking makes it more easy that is a bad, IAC valve, the valve at the base of the throttle body is stuck closed and kills all cold start air supply. making cold starts very hard, unless tricked with right foot. yes?
• when any gas engine fails to start cold, i check for too much or too little starting fuel. and for very good spark.
• Good engine, good spark the good fueling, there are tests for each, ASK?

this is one of the most common failures , on track-kicks.the cause is easy:not replacing the cable at 100k or lubing it every 30k.the acid test (created by me) is the 1 inch rule.if the bell arm moves 1 inch (zero play) and the clutch fails to disengage then the clutch is bad.if it does not move 1inch the cable system is bad.easy huh?see the full sad stories here. and cures. First thing to do is check the condition and tightness of the alternator belt. Make sure that it isn't touching the bottom of the pulley grooves - if it does, it is worn out.=========================================Car Diagnostic Tools

check all fuses in fusebox, simple but often the simplest things are the ones that dumbfound us!

take a OBD2 code scanner to check, you can know where is the problem.

Pull the shifer back out look inside with a lite and sure all shift rails are in the nuetral position and install the shifter carefully into the hole alining it with the shifter rails.experiance is neededJohnny

if high milage ,change oil UP 1 grade. should change oil every season/3-4000 miles on older car
