Intermitent starter problem. Occasionally once
Beat on the starter with a hammer while someone tries to crank....if if cranks, you need a new starter selenoid. You can also bypass the selenoid by jump starting it with a screw drive to conduct much current between the two bolts on the starter selenoid. Be careful not to touch, unless your full of ****.
I can`t sart my Discovery
If you can turn the key to start it, then if may be the brake switch or the gear box control switch. Buy a LR Repair disc.
I forgot to mention that
that seams lose...is there a bolt on the side of the block on that model that goes into the pump from the side ...check that..otherwise ..are you sure you have reommoved the whole housingor just the out side part of the pump....if the bolts are out of the whole unit than pry it off hardeer..maybe its just really stuck

The passenger compartment fusebox contains the starter fue(23).
You will find the starter relay and an additional fusible link in the engine compartment fuse box marked SM.

Usually the problem is caused by a bad battery terminals. Does the vehicle run ok once you get it started? It could also be the electronic accelerator pedal.

The second cable should be for cruise control. Your problem sounds like either a vacuum leak (air entering the engine unmeasured by the air sensor), or fuel vapor in the fuel rail. A vacuum leak can be determined by spraying starting fluid at the air intake hoses, plenum,and connections while the engine is idyling and noting where the engine accelerates to determine where the vacuum is leaking (unmetered air is entering) from. Tighten or replace gasket,hose,seals etc. Bleed the air on the fuel rail if needed with care.

You need a repair shop or spend some quality time on it yourself,and straighten out thoses issues.

It may be your tires, either a weight has come off or the belts are starting to seperate. I am sure if you took it to a tire shop they could check them out for you. Usually, if it is a miss fire your engine check light will light. As far as replacing the plugs and wires it is fairly simple as long as you have the right tools and do one at a time it is possible to do it yourself. Hope this helped Tim

The Green "S" light on the dash is for sport mode. This can be turned on by the mode switch by the gear selector. If your vehicle is equipped with ACE (Active cornering Enhancement) Sport mode will help stiffen the suspension with hydraulic fluid. Hope this helps.

this light is when you select sport mode...to deactivate it just look at the gear selector stick behind and you'll see mode button. simply press on it gently and this light will go off. this is to use sport mode only. no harm to the vehicle at all as it's a facility can be used when needed
