Beat on the starter with a hammer while someone tries to crank....if if cranks, you need a new starter selenoid. You can also bypass the selenoid by jump starting it with a screw drive to conduct much current between the two bolts on the starter selenoid. Be careful not to touch, unless your full of ****.

The second cable should be for cruise control. Your problem sounds like either a vacuum leak (air entering the engine unmeasured by the air sensor), or fuel vapor in the fuel rail. A vacuum leak can be determined by spraying starting fluid at the air intake hoses, plenum, and connections while the engine is idyling and noting where the engine accelerates to determine where the vacuum is leaking (unmetered air is entering) from. Tighten or replace gasket, hose, seals etc. Bleed the air on the fuel rail if needed with care.

You got so many issues, that no one can solve, over the internet.
You need a repair shop or spend some quality time on it yourself, and straighten out thoses issues.

I would be too embarrased ,to go on the internet,to say i bought that vehicle, not knowing it was in that condition

It may be your tires, either a weight has come off or the belts are starting to seperate. I am sure if you took it to a tire shop they could check them out for you. Usually, if it is a miss fire your engine check light will light. As far as replacing the plugs and wires it is fairly simple as long as you have the right tools and do one at a time it is possible to do it yourself. Hope this helped Tim

for Land Rover Discovery 1999-2004 no more external Fuel Filter serviceable anymore...it's a built-in part with the fuel pump. so if you want to change the filter then change the whole fuel PUMP.

The Green "S" light on the dash is for sport mode. This can be turned on by the mode switch by the gear selector. If your vehicle is equipped with ACE (Active cornering Enhancement) Sport mode will help stiffen the suspension with hydraulic fluid. Hope this helps.

Best of luck

this light is when you select sport mode...to deactivate it just look at the gear selector stick behind and you'll see mode button. simply press on it gently and this light will go off. this is to use sport mode only. no harm to the vehicle at all as it's a facility can be used when needed
