My came with a code po734 is that a big problem?
DTC P0734 - Improper Ratio for Fourth Gear.
P0734 is detected when A/T cannot be shifted to the 4th gear position even if electrical circuit is good.
This diagnosis monitors actual gear position by checking the torque
converter slip ratio calculated by Transmission Control Module (TCM) as
follows:
Torque converter slip ratio = A x C/B
A: Output shaft revolution signal from revolution sensor
B: Engine speed signal from Engine Control Module (ECM)
C: Gear ratio determined as gear position which TCM supposes
If the actual gear position is higher than the position (4th) supposed
by TCM, the slip ratio will be more than normal. In case the ratio
exceeds the specified value, TCM judges this diagnosis malfunction.
Symptoms
- Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light)
- Incorrect transmission shifting
Possible causes
- Low transmission fluid level
- Dirty transmission fluid
- Shift solenoids
- Transmission mechanical problems
- Transmission hydraulic control circuit
Tech notes: Start by inspecting the transmission fluid level and condition, and change fluid if necessary.
Test and check it and send us ypur comments.
Discovery one gear box &transfurcase
Hello and welcome to FixYa!
If you have a skid plate then you wil need to remove it to gain access to the gear box and transfer case. The drain valve is at the bottom of the gear box and you can fill her up from top. This can really be needing space so you can suit yourself on how to fill her up. Most of the time, we use hose to fill the gearbox with oil.
Please take note that don't over fill it, the gearing must be afloat and you'll be fine.
Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!
My heated seats wont come
look at the gig fuses in the power distribution box under the bonnet i think the fault is here with a 60 or maybe even a 80 amp fuse
Im working on a 2000
Did you bleed the cooling system - that's usually why level drops at "Fill tank". It's not an overflow reservoir, coolant actually circulates through the tank. I would pressure test the cooling system, maybe intake is leaking or there's a crack in block. (Note: these motors are sleeved and have been known to have sleeves drop) - here for your ref: download this service manual - "RAVE" (Rover Bible) http://www.landroverresource.com/

Have you tried turning the steering wheel left and right while turning the key in the ignition, sometimes the column lock gets loaded up and won't release. Also try spraying wd-40 spray in the ignition key hole, then let it remain there for few minutes and then try turning the key. This helps.A short burst of WD-40, then put key in ignition barrel. Tap the end of the key several times with a small hammer -- apparently this gets the stuck tumbler to fall right into place.Try tapping the end of the lock with a small hammer being carefull not to hit the plastic light ring. This usually frees the lock. But if that is not helping, then its actual problem with the ignition lock cylinder. Its got cracked and it has to be replaced. This will help.Thanks.Helpmech.
I have a Disco 200 V8 model. Came back from a trip
Have a 99 disco....I had to take the gear selection control box, underneath the center consol. There isa switch that came loose that interfaces with the brake and ignition to start the car. Also there is a selenoid in the box that could go bad. also could be a bad brake switch. Try pushing the gear shift foward in park while cranking, if it cranks then the gear selection switch is bad. The problem is between the key switch and the starter....trace it down. Also you can buy cheap a LR repair disc.
I have a coolant leak
you may not have removed all the bolts recheck your work pump should come out easy once loosened up ..they due still alittle so put allitte pressure on it ..if all bolts are removed
Engine is losing antifreeze. New radiator,
If it is not leaking try taking the top off the reservoir, crank it and let it warm up, if no coolent rises into the reservoir when it is warm, add some coolant until it just starts to fill the res...it might go down some then and more till it rises. if it does not rise or fall. Turn it off, let it cool the fill to the mark. If this aint it then it might be leaking....check the heater hoses and inside the care for coolant. might be the heater.
